Sandi are you in here...I read your post and would love to talk to you....well if not..my son's letter was a bit different...sounds like they were writing Sat night and had gotten in trouble and taken a 3 hour beating which is PT designed to punish and insure they don't repeat a behavior...my son said he hated everyone at that point and everyone else hate each other equally...lol...he came back later and wrote he wasn't quite as upset anymore and they were all laughing and had worked things out and all in all it was a good day. I hope that helps you!! Maybe he wrote when he was upset too just like my son did. Remember they can't really vent there...we are the only ones they can vent to, so we have to just stay upbeat and keep encouraging them. If you need a little uplifting go to youtube and search for "I'll pray for you" it might bring a smile to your face!

Morning all...guess what it's another day for possible MAIL CALL...with that said I do want to remind everyone tht some divisions have been at boot camp longer than others. In the case of my recruit it seems he completed the form letter one Sunday and then wrote his first letter the next Sunday so don't despair if you don't get that first letter this week. Also remember they are dead dog tired, and they simply may have used that time to sleep, study, God help us all sew or iron, or maybe even recover from wisdom tooth extraction.

If you got a letter try and share a bit about what is happening in the division in general so that other folks will know. Don't panic if you hear the word beating, remember it simply means additional PT for some infraction and at this point in their training the RDCs are looking for infractions as a means of team building.

If you are fretting about not getting a letter feel free to fret here, thats what we are here for, if you have a funny story, tell it here, thats what we are here for and everything in between. I keep remembering that adage...together we are better. So have a good day...remember we are in the early days...our recruits will survive and so will we.!!

its free at the American legion too, but online is a great option as well...so ms. iowa would you be willing to get and share that web address with us.

Traya, i am a wee bit controlling so i would say yes I would offer and simply send the letters for them by just saying the address has to be done just so, so why don't you let me take care of that for you. Just drop off the letter to me. That way you know it goes in a proper container so to speak....lol but that is just me and I am super vigilant
