Ross Matthews is my favorite comedian and he was doing questions and answers the other day so:

1. You make me laugh! And thank you for doing it without being nasty to someone else..that takes real talent! Will you give a shout out to the young men and women in Navy BC with PIR 11/5? That is their graduation.
I always try to make sure there's no victim at the end of my joke. Holla to Navy BC w/ PIR 11/5!

I forgot to say he did end the letter with it was a good day...so i guess hating everyone must come with the territory...I think we just have to be ready for it and recognize that we have each other and they have something totally new where they know basically no one and are having to build a team and the RDCs are forcing them to depend on each other. We have family, friends, this group, our typical schedule and lives and that is comforting. They have one pillow, a 4 inch mattress, stinky clothes, 3 minute showers, 12 minutes to eat, and a very tired brain and body. I am sure it gets to them. Keep your spirits up and keep encouraging him. On the Boot Camp Moms site their is a neat discussion with all kinds of suggestions with words of encouragement. There are multiple sayings and stories. I have used several of them..

Did he sound kind of overwhelmed iowa...my son said it was hard...at one point he kind of vented and said at that moment he hated everyone equally and everyone hate everyone else equally as well...lol...they are breaking them down and working them hard. I didn't expect them to only be in week 1 at this point!!

The letter wasn't upbeat like it sounds others got.. he made his normal jokes, so I hope it will just get better each week. I'm excited about him folding socks.. I hate that job!

Got my letter! Hmmm, son's wife got a 6 pager...I got a one pager...I think I've been replaced, but oh what a treasure that 1 page is! He sounds sooo good - no complaining either! Said the Navy is hard, but fair. Gosh I love that boy so much and am just bursting with pride! I hope all of you receive your letters soon - BANavy is so right - seeing HIS/HER writing and HIS/HER words makes you feel so much lighter. Chins up everyone!
