Perhaps you could dress up and be singing when he/she arrives
Please Mr. Postman, look and see
If there's a letter, oh yeh for me,
I've been waiting, a long long time
Since I've heard from that RECRUIT of mine.

I checked the Recruit Training Command website and there wasn't 4 digits after ship 7 on that website either. You can go to www1.netc.navy.mil for the addresses and lots of other good info.

Lynn, so sorry you had a hard morning. I said a quick prayer for you! Thanks for all the info and keeping us organized!

My mail ran and didn't get a letter today! May be standing by the mailbox waiting for the mailman tomorrow! LOL

MyhrtBlongs2ASailor - really? can you give me those 4 digits? Won't hurt to add them to today's letter. Thanks.

FYI - I just looked here: http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp
and apparently ship 07 does not have the 4 digit zip code extension. All other ships have one listed, except ships 02 and 07. So I guess there was no mistake that one wasn't on my official letter this week.

I know some of you are worried about Grad and Go, try not to worry at least until you know for sure. I saw someone asked what it means and I don't think it was answered completely. Grad and go just means that they leave for A-school very soon after PIR. They graduate and they Go to A-school. Almost all of the grad and go sailors will get to spend about 7 hours with their families on Friday after PIR. Then you can meet them at the airport early Sat morning and hang out with them until their flight. You can bring their cell phones and laptops to the airport and then they can have more contact with you when they leave. Our daughter was grad and go but she got put on a chartered flight and we didn't get to meet her at the airport. But let me tell you this. The 16 hr drive to GL, 7 hours with our daughter, and the 18 hr drive home were well worth it. I wouldn't have missed PIR for anything. Even if she left right after graduation on Friday it would have still been worth the trip. So plan your trip as if they get the whole weekend. There are a lot more sailors who are not grad and go than there are who are.
