Lynne you are right everyone has their moments. And yes a good cry every now and then does the soul good. I am glad you are feeling much better. And we should be getting a letter this week. So lets see who gets theirs first.

Okay usually I try to be very upbeat and this too shall pass but this morning I am tired. What you don't know about me is I can't walk...long story..and my recruit is my only child and I fell and it took me awhile to get up...so I sat there on the flipping ground and had a good cry and felt darn sorry for myself...lol There better be a letter today...or I might run over that RDC with my scooter when I see him...3 weeks is too long...lol. Okay I am done...Thank you for letting me vent. Just goes to show we all have our moments, we all have our stresses and that is why a place like this is so vital. I am thankful for each one of you that is dropping in and making this a small part of your life! May you find what you need and ask for what you want!!

It looks like you all are enjoying your discussion groups above and finding others from your divisions. If there are other things you think we should be doing to help each other out...just yell.

For those of you who are just joining...first let me say welcome! This is the place where you can ask questions ( there are no dumb ones, except the ones you don't ask), vent, find family members from your recruits division, plan for PIR and learn a little bit about what may be going on at boot camp this week.

I want to warn you that RDCs often read these sites so it is in your recruits best interest that you make your page private and that you remove identifying information about your child from your name. When you send mail...please send it in non-descript envelopes with nothing but the address and return address written on the outside. Sorry no hearts, I love you's happy birthdays etc. Even colored envelopes may cause them to be teased or singled out for additional physical training. No musical cards or cards that you record a message on either. Remember your recruit is trying to fly under the radar. This is one time when they don't want the RDC is know their name...lol!!

Try to keep your letters and cards upbeat and encouraging. They are under a tremendous amount of stress. Be light hearted and try to write everyday. They say mail call is like waiting for the ice cream truck on a hot day. Expect them to be a little down in their first letters. This is a massive change for them. Keep encouraging them.

Most important, remember to take care of yourself. This is stressful for you too!! Go for a walk, read a book, take a bath, go shopping and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. You have survived this long and you will make it!

Now guess what I heard a rumor that some of the divisions got to write letters on Sunday. I won't reveal my source, but check your mailbox tomorrow and Thursday and maybe some of us will be lucky enough to muster in and report - Letter received PIR group....letter received!!

Man, this is tough...hubby recently had serious complications from a surgery that our son knew was going to happen when he shipped...assurred him all would be fine...hubby back in hospital having rough time...not serious enough to contact him and not writing much about it...dont want him to worry...needs to keep in the game..wish he was here..he's my hugger and better nerve calmer than Valium! Lol! Just missin' him a bunch...
