Thats how I felt about my son and singing kat...lol...I wanted him to join the choir...but he didn't

SWCC stands for Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewman, pronounced "swick." SAR stands for Search and Rescue. Their motto is "So other may live." SEAL stands for "Sea, Air, and Land." BUDS stands for "Basic Underwater Demolation/SEAL training." Pre-buds is before they go to BUDS. All these guys are in 800 divisions in BC. And before you are impressed with my knowledge, you should know that I just googled all the acronyms.

O.K. so I guess my son didn't join the band after all. he wasn't sure he was going to.

SWCC - Special Warfare Combatant Craft Crewman. These are the folks who operate the inventory of military boats.
I don't know what SAR is...sorry.
If you look on the right side of your screen you will see navy Speak, any navy term you do not understand simply place in that box and hit enter and it should define it for you!

To set your privacy settings go to your page and look in your left column. Click on settings. Then look on right column and click on privacy. In the middle you can set the privacy settings for everything in Navy for Moms, I set everything for My friends.

In terms of this group...I just want to give it another few days for folks to get their form letters and find us. Then I am happy to take the group private! You will find others from your division by clicking view all on the discussions above and replying there so that other people in your division know how to find you! Talk away as long as you don't use any identifying information, my son Johnny and his sister Lily were only a year apart and every year we went to Cancun for vacay! You know the drill...lol Don't be paranoid...none of us want to put our children in a position of taking heat from the RDC's you all just want to insure they don't take added heat in background checks for something silly in here!

you are close USN Mom...the 900 divisions are the performance divisions. They are made up of band, choir, flags, and the one's who can throw the guns ( don't you love that use of vacab...lol)
Comment by USN Mom on September 21, 2010 at 2:30pm
Sorry it's SAR not AAR.
Comment by USN Mom on September 21, 2010 at 2:29pm
I believe that 900's and 800's are the Spec Ops Div's.
I am not completely sure of the entire list but i believe that Seals, SWCC and AAR are the Spec Ops Divisions. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Comment by Kat (MM Nuke) on September 21, 2010 at 2:27pm
curious.... could someone explain what the special ops is? Are there certain division numbers that go with that?
Comment by USN Mom on September 21, 2010 at 2:20pm
I'm in the same boat (ha ha) - don't want to say to much but I have been reading everything I can on here. S4/D825
They are all doing the same thing even tho some are in the Spec Ops right?
