I hope they all get through, too.  It is so important that my son get this accomplishment under his belt.  He is a smart guy and needs to build his self confidence.  He has had to help me care for his special needs brother most of his life and did it without a lot of complaints.  He deserves to have time to himself and grow.  It was tough to let go, but I know it will be all good once he is at A school which will be a new challenge.  I, too, at age 50 just applied to an online master's program to get a better job. Change is good!

I wish it were next Friday and I was driving to the airport to pick up my son and husband. . . .

My favorite Navy quote to date: "When you love a sailor, nothing can ever compare to the complete joy you feel when they're home, the pain when they're gone, and the unconditional love and support you have for them" <3

Oh and no need for the apology, I slipped up and said "our men" instead of men and women in an earlier comment..oops. Luke and I actually talked about me joining with him, but we realized it would be a lot harder to stay together if we were both in the Navy..I'm ok with my current jobs and getting back into school once were settled. :) I have been praying for all our sailors this week, and I give the women in the Navy a lot of credit for having the strength to fight for our country. :)
I hope everyone gets through BSs this coming week :)

Yes, it definitely is! :) I'm watching it from my balcony now, its pretty to look at..not soo pretty to drive in! 16" seems a bit drastic, but we will see..maybe ill get on the road extra early Thursday, just in case. It took us an extra hour to get down there for Thanksgiving; you'd think those people had never seen snow! Lol its Wisconsin!! Haha.

Lukesgirl, I owe you an apology.  I should have said " to meet the moms, girlfriends, and all the amazing women I have met through Navyformoms!"

Did not mean to omit anyone. . .

I, too, hope the snow holds off next Thursday and Friday.  I have a brother driving from MInnetonka, MN and my husband flying in from Danville, Ca.  We are originally from Maine, so we know snow.  Flying or driving in it is not so nice.  It is best enjoyed on the ski slope or watching from inside near a fire!

That's an awesome quote :)
Were getting soo close to seeing our sailors!! I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful weekend!
(Were supposed to get up to 16" of snow up here in wi tonight, hopefully this is the worse of it, so driving down Thursday is smooth sailing. ;) )

So, I have a quote for all of the recruits entering into the final week of boot camp and getting ready for Battlestations.  A friend of mine has it on her website and I just really like how it reads:

"Courage is being scared to death - but saddling up anyway."
- John Wayne

I wish they could read this, too. It sort of sums up boot camp.  I am proud of all of them and wish that I could be there to see them graduate and . . . .  to meet the moms.     Go Navy!!!

Thank you, CJ's mom.

I don't think I can make it to meet and greet at Ramada Inn is the later one at Marriot still happening?

Comment by CJ's Mom on December 10, 2010 at 8:05pm

My experience is if they get in trouble or fail something they can call right away
