Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Anyone hear word about battlestations for ship 03? My son is div 023, i wrote him again and asked but he hasnt said anything. We just got letters he wrote back in Nov !!

Donna, I'm glad that you heard from your new bff. lol

We now have news from 2 different recruits in Ship 04, Div. 020 that their BS21 will start Monday night, so we will go with that. Ladies, you should expect that all important phone call on Tuesday. Yippee!

When they get the I'm a sailor call they usually get close to an hour and they can call as many as they want to in that time. My sailor called 5 people lol. Of course that meant I got less time but she called me first and called me back after she called her dad. Bf, and grandparents. There were a bunch of people doing happy dances that day lol.

Battle Stations should be next Tuesday, and we will get the call that they are officially Sailors next Wednesday, that was at least how it went for the last PIR group.

So glad to hear that you got a confirmation, Marylandmom. That will ease your mind a bit. I spoke with my brother today and he is definitely going to my son's graduation. He will be wearing red, too. I told that was the plan. I hope I get the chance to talk to my son before PIR, but maybe not? He needs to add his uncle to visitors list. I did put that in a letter a week ago. I am still trying to come up with a gift for graduation. I was thinking about small silver st christopher medal. I found a Navy version online.
