This is the final test for your recruits.  When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

After reading some of these posts, Im wondering if my recruit had his wisdom teeth pulled - since he still has (had?) them. And than you to TXlifeboat who said she is praying for the division - I appreciate it! thank you ladies, for sharing the bits and pieced that you know. It helps me to visualize my son and his surroundings and goingson. It helps me feel close to him, and that helps with the hurt of missing him.

AngieS & all the Ship09 Div 069 MOMS - thanks for keeping the encouragement going. Today is boxing day and still no phone call or letter. Of course, no postal service available until monday. Encouraging to hear a mom say that they recruits have been writing. Se, we will keep writing. I had my extended family gathering yesterday and took cards for everyone to write one to my recruit. he will be thrilled to open the envelope and have a dozen colored cards from his cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. I cant wait to sent them!

We received no phone call yesterday on Christmas, as I was sure hoping we would... I hope the boys at least got to read their Mail.  We still haven't received a regular letter from our son yet... but I guess in time....maybe THIS  week--- What else can you do??!   All you Moms have a good afternoon, and stay busy; that's what our kids would want, I'm sure!   I'm also saying a prayer for all of you, for the Lord to give you Peace, that everything is OK with our kids!

Has anyone heard of, or had any experience with The Illinois Beach Resort.  They have an indoor heated pool, spa and fitness center.  Lake view suites are $95.00 and they say they are 15 minutes from the RTC?  I will appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

Shauna...Thanks for sharing some news from your recruit.  I haven't gotten a letter or phone call yet.  Still waiting.  Was feeling pretty sad yesterday about not getting a letter or phone call, but today is a new day and tomorrow starts a new mail week, so maybe next week I will get a letter and will be able to share it with you guys.

I have heard through other comments that alot of the recruits have been sick.  I would think because they are getting so little sleep and being outside hasn't helped.  Plus they are right next to each the germs spread fast.

Chins up girls!!!! For those of us who haven't gotten letters or calls yet we have a new week ahead of us to look forward to, plus we are getting closer to PIR!!!

We got a 1 hour phone call home Christmas morining and I am so thankful everything sounds like it is going ok.  Said everyone in the group had been sick and several had their wisdom teeth pulled.....that doesn't sound like much fun.  He did say that the folks in the cafeteria did a little dance and sang for them on Christmas morning.  Said it has been tough and he misses home but that he has no regrets and he would do it all over again.  I think my son said they are training with one of their brother divisions 066.  For those of you that don't know here is a little trivia my son shared with me.....Ship 11 is named after the USS Kearsarge an amphibious assault ship.  Merry Christmas!phibious Assault Ships

No call from my boy in Ship 9 Div 070.  I wonder how they determine who gets to call and who doesn't.  StaceyinTx, Congrats that your Div 70 got to call.  My son called Tuesday - lucky as he had just finished his security clearance call.  He told me the same thing - they had only just started official boot camp as they had been help up in processing.  Said it was very hard - but he was hanging in there.  I wonder how his swim test went?  When are they doing their first PT?  This week, you think?

Mikki TXlifeboat and battlebuddy. My son is in 09/069 too.  No call today.  Was sure hoping for a call.  I saw that someone from 09/75 was able to call home.  Wish our boys could call.  Hope that they are all doing well.
