This is the final test for your recruits. When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

Has anyone heard of, or had any experience with The Illinois Beach Resort. They have an indoor heated pool, spa and fitness center. Lake view suites are $95.00 and they say they are 15 minutes from the RTC? I will appreciate any feedback.
Thanks
Shauna...Thanks for sharing some news from your recruit. I haven't gotten a letter or phone call yet. Still waiting. Was feeling pretty sad yesterday about not getting a letter or phone call, but today is a new day and tomorrow starts a new mail week, so maybe next week I will get a letter and will be able to share it with you guys.
I have heard through other comments that alot of the recruits have been sick. I would think because they are getting so little sleep and being outside hasn't helped. Plus they are right next to each the germs spread fast.
Chins up girls!!!! For those of us who haven't gotten letters or calls yet we have a new week ahead of us to look forward to, plus we are getting closer to PIR!!!
We got a 1 hour phone call home Christmas morining and I am so thankful everything sounds like it is going ok. Said everyone in the group had been sick and several had their wisdom teeth pulled.....that doesn't sound like much fun. He did say that the folks in the cafeteria did a little dance and sang for them on Christmas morning. Said it has been tough and he misses home but that he has no regrets and he would do it all over again. I think my son said they are training with one of their brother divisions 066. For those of you that don't know here is a little trivia my son shared with me.....Ship 11 is named after the USS Kearsarge an amphibious assault ship. Merry Christmas!phibious Assault Ships
