This is the final test for your recruits.  When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

@ Salinghi...I completely understand...I keep my phone on and I check my mailbox in hopes of getting a letter or hearing his voice...but nothing...
@Arwen...I really like the idea of different scarves for each div...let me know what the final descision is...

Sailinghi- I empathize like you have no idea. Last Sunday I started crying in church and didn't quit all day. It gives me hope to know others are getting letters and calls now, so I'm glued to my phone.

pench- yea I am so happy for you! it is like I got one to(no not really) but I am just (well almost) as excited to hear what our guys are doing and that they are well!

109 is that a lot, it sure sounds like it, i think that I read somewhere here that the divisions are usually about 88?

Today (well this week) was not a good week. I am going to try to get out tomorrow! Hopefully the sun will show up, I am sure that will do some good. But boy so much harder than I thought.

For those of you who are going to be out of touch for the holidays, I am wishing you and your families a very happy holiday and may all of our mailboxes be filled with letters!( i will still be here checking in!)

The easiest place to find scarves of specific colors is online. Last year we did different color scarves for each division. Most of us coordinated our outfits to go with our scarves. I bought a $15 gold one from Amazon, and a $70 cashmere Navy blue scarf from Land's End (they do have cashmere yellow scarves too - very warm and luxurious).

How about something like this:

Div 063 - red

Div 064 -orange

Div 065 -yellow

Div 066 -green

Div 067 -light (sky) blue

Div 068 -navy blue

Div 069 -lavender

Div 070 -purple

Div 071 -pink

Div 072 -white

Div 073 -black

Div 074 -grey/silver

Div 804 -gold/tan

Div 912 -brown

Area code from GL is 847 and it will usually say "pay phone".

They usually can't write letters until they have been there at least 2 weeks...sometimes the letters cross in the mail...meaning they have received yours by the time you get theirs saying "please write!"

Ribbons and scarves and shirts...Oh my...What is the final decision on what the group is doing. I skimmed across a post last night about yellow scarves...I've got friends looking for them in stores in our area. It would be awesome to have something that connects us all at the PIR. Our recruits will know how much we have been supporting them while they were away! Count me in on whatever the group decides to do. It is hard to keep up with all the posts.....

hang in there mapakids and the rest of you, I was totally not exspecting a letter today so maybe you all will get yours tomorrow. apparently they are not getting our letters yet because he told me to write soon. so maybe they just let them wirte home whatever the reason I was thankful for the blessing of it today and will be praying you all have yours before the weekend. thank you all for being here it truely does make it easier.

bty I would like a ribbon as well for whoever is making them just let me know what to do. talk to you all later have a great night and remember we are Navy Strong!!

Yes, my kitty got a Santa hat.  I was surprised that she let us put it on her.  She is such a easy going cat though.  I got her in June of this year and she just turned 6 in November.  She is a Himalayan and she is the best cat I have ever had.  She is very sensitive to my feelings so when I am sad or crying she sticks to me like glue.  She keeps me company during the day when everyone else is gone at work and school.

You can count me in on the M&G.  There will be 4 of us.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate for the drive there for us.

I would like a ribbon for whoever is doing them.  Let me know who and how much.
