This is the final test for your recruits. When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

Hey all,
I am pretty creative and love to do all sorts of crafts. So what if I went to our local craft store and got Navy/Yellow ribbon and made pins for all of us to wear? I can also put PIR 2/11/11 on one side and your sailor name on the other side. Since they are light weight they would not be much to ship/mail out to you. Or if I gave you my address in a private message you can donate the some ribbon and I will ship the pin back to you. Then we also could wear these on the day of graduation. Then we really would know who the N4M's are. Just a thought...I make hair bows for little girls and diaper cakes for expecting moms for their showers. I also make really cool coach blankets. So let me know what you think and talk to you soon!

Satiling Hi: I believe that what previous groups have done at Anastasia's is reserve the area of the hotel ahead of time, and then each just orders off the menu for his/her family (and pays separately). The Ramada M&Greet is "free" except for drinks...but I understand that the appetizers served are not enough to be considered dinner. Therefore, dinner at Anastasia's is a great thing afterwards!
Pench: My advice below is ONLY if he is GradNGo to A School at GL. If not, then he will be on RTC for a few days. He would then be able to take the shuttle back to the hotel with you after PIR but will need to be back each night on RTC. There are no "shuttles" then. If you don't have a car, you will need to take a cab back to the base each night. Don't be late getting him back on base! There is BIG trouble for that!
Lynne: Was wondering where you were! So glad that you are on the mend...and back on here helping! Feel better!
pench: Sounds like your son is GradNGo to GL A School. So he will have no need to ride back on the shuttle from PIR with you. He will be transported over there and then after he has moved in (yes, 3-5 hours), he will call you (with his phone card...no cells yet) to pick him up at the new base. They are right next to one another. Also, the shuttle is usually not free...it is $3/pp each way normally. The shuttles are actually taxis.
I was thinking we all could wear yellow scarves or something (support our troops color) then thought the men may not like the need to wear a yellow scarf too much. Once I have details I will be sharing with the N4D as well. My son's father is a member of that site and I will get him to make posts as needed.
BB I am not the most creative person, so I am happy to leave it up to you! :-)
thanks BB! Anyone have any suggestions, ideas?
I am good, with what ever you decide, I like the idea of just the N4M's getting together! I will work on something creative so we can recognize each other.
Let me know how i can help organize!
Pench, your recruit may or may not be G&G. Not all are. It depends on whether or not their orders are ready. If their orders are ready, they go early. Usually only the first 2-4 divisions are G&G, the Navy issues orders one division at a time and usually does not have more than 4 divisions ready by Friday. If they are not, they will remain at the RTC through the weekend and have regular liberty with the others. You won't know for a few weeks.
At my son's graduation they only had orders ready for two divisions, only the first two divisions were G&G.
Dorrio = I don't think you are enabling him. He is at BC and not really able to take care of business. Maybe you will get to speak to him before the bill is due to see if he was able to pay it or not, if not I say pay it for him - he can always pay you back.
