This is the final test for your recruits. When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

SailingHi: If you need two beds and a sleeper sofa, you would need the 2-bedroom suite. Queen in each bedroom and sleeper in living room. One-bedroom has queen and then sleeper sofa. The difference in price is like getting 2 rooms rather than one. But maybe with the discount for 10 rooms booked, it would work for you to have the 2-bedroom?
I believe that mamawalrus is coordinating this...trying to book today if she can get 10 people by then. You may want to clarify to her if you want to squeeze into the 1-bedroom or go for the 2-bedroom. I believe the full prices (remember, you would be getting a discount) are like $74 to $159 for the 1- and 2-bedroom.
Remember, ladies...this is a pet friendly hotel for anyone driving who may want to surprise their sailor with the family pet! One-time fee for bringing a pet. We loved staying at this hotel...no pet since we flew...but believe me, if we had driven, my dogs would have been there! :-)
Arwen: Actually I heard recently from another mom that the RDC's do not allow that anymore...putting guests' names on another recruit's list of 4. Her son told her that said no way.
So, sailorgirl....the extras will just have to take their chances...even though this is a large PIR group, there was a larger one back in Sept (14 divisions) and all extras got in. Remember, you are PIRing in Feb when the weather is still pretty bad, so unfortunately not all who want to come will be able to be there. The worst that can happen is that extras will be held at the Visitors Center during PIR and you will meet up with them afterwards. But my guess is that all will get in eventually...but no guarantee.
Frazcom, my son is the same - Ship 9, Division 070! Can't wait to meet you!!
To be an extra, your recruit needs to have one of the other recruits who expects to have fewer than 4 people at PIR put you on his list. Otherwise, you will have to wait in a holding area near the gate. They will let you in if there is room after the formal guests have been seated.
Okay, we have 2 hotels in McHenry where I live. One is the Hampton Inn and another is Super 8. I live about 40 minutes from GL. If any of you are having problems getting rooms by the base or if you are going to drive from your home consider staying in my nick of the woods. I know some of you are worried about weather and I am too. I will not be staying at a hotel and will be driving from my house. Let me know if you need help finding somewhere to stay. If all else fails there is always my house.
mamawalrus.....I am very serious!!! We are due in Illinois for a blizzard. The last one we had that was really bad was New Years Eve 1984. We were snowed in for days. Snow was almost up to the roofs. If you wanted to you could have gone sledding off of our roof. I was in high school at the time and my parents had to make room for a lot of people to spend the night and whole next day till we could get out of our front door!!!
ATTENTION ALL!
I have 7 rooms and need 10 to get group discount... This who I have and please correct me if I am wrong.
