This is the final test for your recruits. When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

ok, just called Res Inn, Navy rate for Studio is $74, still available at this point I booked it for now just to make sure I had something...
ok jessicab what do I need to do to start one.
Hi everyone. I haven't written lately, but have been reading the comments about everything. I got the form letter last week, but still no real letter. Anyone else with someone from ship 09 div 068? PIR 2/11. I know I've seen links to other divisions. Is there one for the one my son is in? Silly question, but I should probably get some reservations done for a hotel, huh? It'll be my husband, my daughter (23) and myself. We'll be driving from Michigan the day before. I read the earlier post about Residence Inn. Does their 1 bdrm have a pullout couch my daughter could sleep on do you know? Just trying to save some money. My husband is laid off at the moment and money is tight. We were also thinking we'd probably shuttle over from the hotel. Help, I need some advice!! Thanks everyone. Any info anyone has will be greatly appreciated.
Mamawalrus, I apologize for not checking back in sooner, I got swamped at work today and just now getting back to you all. I am definitely in for the Residence Inn for one studio room and one 2 bedroom ste (so there is 2 rooms of the 10 needed!), I checked the govt rate (because I work for the govt, and wanted to see first what they list) and they list the 2 bdrm suite at $139, the 1 bdrm at $128, and the studio at $99. SO.. hopefully they can do better than that an discount for a group? Sounds like you have a contact there, thank you so much for jumping on this, and please let me know if I can assist?
Yes. The guest list is finalized a couple of weeks before PIR. If they think there is going to be a full hall, the Navy asks anyone who arrives who is not on the list to wait outside. With 14 divisions graduating, it could go either way, and anyone let in late is likely to get one of the "less desirable" seats (ie you can't see much).
Dorrio,,, it does have a pool, my error,,, but jsut called and it is not indoor! LOl try the Springhill by Marriott,
If any of your recruits are REALLY into swimming and water slides, there is an indoor hotel/waterpark within a few miles of Great Lakes. It's a little expensive, but if you deduct the cost of entiertainment you would spend elsewhere (just being there is entiertainment), it's affordable. You MUST be a guest of the hotel (you can list your recruit in your room, even though s/he can't stay overnight) and spend all day in the hot tubs, game rooms, pools and on the many slides.
it does not.. and i looked into that but decided that the FULL breakfast out did that. lol Plus save me money feeding everyone!
