This is the final test for your recruits.  When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

jessicaB yes he will be g&g he will stay in great lakes, from what I read he will have to go after graduation and sign in at his new spot, which they say to allow up to 5 hours for. I have told his girlfriend she needs to join us on here but I don't think she has yet. I am confident she will get in, just a adjustment for her.

good morning all. so we had a little meltdown with the girfriend last night, I believe she is mad at me but just wont admit it. I tried to talk to her and my sons friend together and she says she understands that it is only right for my daughters to be on the list and I explained to her that there is a great possibility that she two will get in just has to wait till everyone else is seated and she will still get to spend the same amount of time with him as the rest of us. but all she kept saying was she missed him and this was the 1st times she has really cried since he left I felt so bad for her. because I to miss my son and I am doing the best I can. I am excited though got the hotel reservations taken care of and this week will set up the rental car YAY!!!!  love getting on here and seeing the countdown clock ticking away lol.

Does anyone happen to have any idea about the 800's liberty for Sunday after graduation??? was just wondering I understand that those stayin for A school in G.L. will have to go check in and it could take up to 5 hours UGGHhh  so was just wondering about Sunday.  thanks

BB:  There were only about 65 in my son's division by the time they graduated.  Some are sent home, some asmoed (setback) and then rejoin other divisions, some are asmoed recuperating from an injury or illness and have not been put back into a division.

I totally agree with you, Lala.  A new life...for all of them...married or not...having to be away from loved ones...lots of prayers for our sailors!

My daughter is new to her ship as well. . She graduated c-school on the 10th. She could have came home for week then but her husband who is also in the Navy was still in phase 1 of a-school. So, she chose to wait and hope that she could get a few days for Christmas. She has never even seen her ship lol. I know it is only fair that she stay and work because she is so new. It is just hard for her because she not only wants to be with us but she also wants to be with her husband and she wants him to go home to his family because his sister was recently killed in a car wreck and she knows how hard Christmas will be for them this year. It is sad but something they better get used to. With both of them in the Navy who knows when they will be able to be together or especially come home at the same time.

Lala, my son is also one of the "skeleton crew." He is new to his ship, and had more than two weeks of leave only 4 months ago, so he was not on the list for holiday leave. Instead of coming home for the holidays, he's mess cranking (aka KP duty, kitchen duty, etc).

How many SR in a division? Why so big?

My daughter's music class will be taking Amtrak to Vancouver in May, to go to a music festival. They have a $35 round-trip deal for students (as long as they stay in the Pacific Northwest). Very cool, when you consider how much luggage orchestras travel with!
