My son was really sick the last 3 weeks of BC and wouldn't go because he said he heard to many bad things.

Yeah, mine got the ricky crud right away in BC. Said he had a throbbing headache for the 1st week and refused to chit for SIQ. They told them it is not good to SIQ so he powered through in case he got sick again. I think while in BC they can only be SIQ like 2 times...

my grandson got sick the day after we came home from PIR but he would be sick if he were at home because of the tremendous amount of pollen we are having here now

It's kind of a relief and kind of frustrating to hear that other jobs are waiting to "class up" for IT too. My son graduated with the rest on 3/11 and is also waiting to start classes. Though he said they were learning "core" skills - whatever that means. He also will have to learn to manage his money...He got all the way through bootcamp without getting hurt or sick, and now has the flu, weird. I guess the increased adrenalin maybe kept it away and then it all came crashing in through the airline vents? Anyway. I'm glad you guys are still on here to chat.

We joked when we told our son that this was the time for him to get sick and get it all out of the way. That was before we found out he was sick. I'm anxiously waiting for him to call me with the results of his follow up appointment today, but don't know when it was for the day.

at the rate he is going he will not have a dime about a week before every payday-spending a lot of time at the bowling alley  tne NEX and the Gurney Mall-I guess he will learn to handle his money or being staying at his barracks for the last week or 10 days before every payday-time to learn how to handle money you make and that your parents or grandparents arent giving you anymore. Welcome to the real world, recruit.  lol

Thank you Terry for your information about the A School Groups. I have joined both, and will be watching them closely... :)

paybacks398 - mine is waiting as well at MAA School. Guess they will learn the true meaning of hurry up and wait... Good time to do some, on their own studying to learn about their job ahead of time!

my grandson called Saturday and said he could be waiting for his Gunner's Mate

A school for up tp 6 months-they told him to be prepared to be there up to 13 months and it was supposed to be 26 weeks-I know there are delays that seems like a really long time to wait for A school-so far all he has had in Indoc

How long do have to be there to get a leave-how does it accumulate?  So far he says they muster twice and day and get called every few hours to clean-surely they will find all these recruits something to do for an extended delay like this
