Pinkeye and "the crud" are the two major illnesses there.  They are not allowed to go through BattleStations with pinkeye.  When my son was there, he had it a few weeks before BattleStations, but some got it right before BattleStations and were not allowed to go through.  He felt badly for them as they had passed all of their tests.  Since his Battlestations night was the first night (a week before PIR), hopefully those SRs had time and got it under control-- and finished BattleStations with another division in their same PIR group.

Ladies thank you ALL so much for your prayers! He has had tubes but in his ears so many times, so I'm hoping this time goes just as smoothly! I'm glad its a familiar surgery because I know he won't be very nervous!

I had NO clue about the Pizza Party...I just looked at the battlestations powerpoint and it made me cry!! I wish all our SRs could see that before going in  to know a little what to expect! I can only imagine how nice having a pizza party will be!! It's so nice they do that!

I hope all the SRs who are under the weather get better soon! Patti, remember no news is good news! I'm sure her knee is fine by now!

I'm wondering if they know each other also. Mine gave me a couple of names of SRs who he is "friends" with but I don't think it is a good idea to post on this wall. One of the names starts with an "S" and the other with a "G" - CMom, he knows yours but this is a different one. Both of the names could also be used as a "first" name but not - if you know what I'm trying to say. :)

Good Morning Ladies...Congrats  to all of you that got phone calls.  I was feeling very badly for all of you whose sailors are not feeling well.  Thoughts and prayers to you M3 on your hubbys surgery.  I was wondering how my sailor is doing and like all of you, missing him terribly.  I watched the slide show on their Battlestations, and at the end when they pass, they get to have a "pizza party".  I pass this on because it made me smile to think about how much my son loved having pizza parties when he was growing up and that a pizza party will commemorate his passing into "sailorhood".  Perhaps this will make you smile too!!

dmb - so sorry to hear your husband is one that has pink eye!  I heard it goes around and is normal to get it!  I figure my luck my son will have it during PIR and will look terrible for graduation!!  LOL  I just told him to keep his hands away from his eyes and wash, wash, wash!!  LOL  Did your husband tell you they were getting along better?  Does your husband have a job in the division?  Just wondering if our "guys" knew each other! =o)

Cmom- My husband is one of the guys who got pink eye. He too has the "crud". I'm so glad they got it together and are working better as a team.

I didn't get a call... However, I got a letter...just not a good one. Evidently, she threw her knee out, and was put on light duty for 3 days. She was so dismayed when it happened, she said she was crying and felt she let her division down. That's what she kept saying...she let them down.

I don't see how this is any different than someone getting their wisdom teeth removed and being put on light duty. Wish she wasn't so hard on herself.

She should be off light duty by now (letter was written 3/28), so hopefully I'll get a call so I can see how she is doing.

WOO-HOO! I too got a phone call yesterday!! Sounds like the "guys" in 150 are starting to come together!  They got a perfect score on their division inspection and earned a phone call!!  MY SR said everyone is fighting the "crud" in fact a couple of guys got asmoed and are in medical because of it - and there are a few that have pink eye - but all in all they are getting along!  He did mention that the ship either above or below him had a bad breakout of scabies - they all had to use some sort of wash at night that burned their skin - but at least their division didn't have them!  He sounded very upbeat and said he is really missing outside news - Said they are all starting to get the routine down so it is making things much easier!!  He is really looking forward to PIR!!   ME TOO!!

Hope the rest of you will be getting phone calls soon!  It really helps just hearing their voice!  Be sure to write down questions you want to ask in case they call - You tend to forget everything the min you see 847 show up on the phone! LOL

I got a phone call too! So glad others have too! I was driving on a road trip so I'm so grateful that I had service the whole phone call!!! He had time to call me and his mom so it was great! Hopefully they earn more!
He's sick which stinks :/ his said practically everyone is sick, but they have gas chamber soon and that clears up all sinuses so that's good!

That is good news m3 that it is simple. Something like that shouldn't postpone his PIR. I will keep my fingers crossed and keep him in my prayers.
