Thanks ladies, I am trying to look on the bright side of having talked to him, but I have a STRONG husband who has never been one for emotions...and he CRIED during almost the entire call...It just broke my heart more than I can describe. But I know how much just hearing my voice meant to him, and I LOVED hearing from him too. It was just soo hard! It honestly didn't even sound like him...

But, only ONE MONTH from today, and we will be with our loved ones...and THAT is the moment I can't wait for!

m3: my call was not long at all.  I was so excited to hear from him that I totally forgot to ask him so much.  Also I felt very badly for his girlfriend because he called her cell phone and she is not allowed to answer at work, so all she got was a message.  So don't get me wrong it was wonderful to hear from my son, but the time of day struck me as odd because generally no one is home at the time he called. I am so grateful that by chance I happened to be home.

I was informed that unless you receive a phone call from your SR stating otherwise, rest assured he is on track to graduate on time.

For all wondering why they might not be receiving a phone call, keep in mind that all it can take is for one recruit to spoil it for an entire division when trying to earn a phone call. This is to train the recruits that they are a team and they must work as one and the consequences of their actions or misactions of a single Sailor can cost lives when out to sea.

Yes, it's unnerving for families as they anxiously await word from their recruits, but bear in mind that this is serious military training they are going through in just eight weeks. There's a lot to learn.

Just continue writing them  letters and asking them questions.

Ladies, they are still in the very hard stage in bootcamp, but turning the corner soon in their training.  So don't worry about divisions "behaving badly".  They'll get it together and they just MAY get another call as a reward before the I'm a Sailor calls after BattleStations.  By week 4 of training, they start turning the corner and it becomes more positive.  It'll work out.

Hang in there, M3:  Try to know that by tomorrow, things can be better for him.  You may have caught him at a low moment...just try to treasure that you got to talk to him!

I got a call too!!!! He sounded really good. A little tired but in good spirits. He said they only have 4 more Sundays! Doesn't that sound wonderful???? He likes the letters and wants them to continue. What a wonderful wonderful night!!!
