GOT A PHONE CALL TODAY ABOUT AN HOUR AGO! Ship 3 division 152. Not sure if they whole division got to call or only those that did good on their first test.

It was amazing to hear her voice. She said she is tired but other than that everything is going good and she cannot wait to graduate! I can't tell you all how much this phone call put my mind at ease just to be able to hear her voice and hear her say that everything is going well.

She said technically they are only given time to write on Sundays but most people find time to write during the week but that they only get to mail things out on Sunday. They also only receive their mail Monday-Friday, no Saturday at this point.

I was so freaked out seeing the 847 area code pop up on my phone that I almost forgot how to answer it!!

Well put ladies. It is so good to see everyone encouraging each other and I am sure we all hope and pray that is what the recruits are doing as well. :-)

Reneric:  Try to stay positive.  This is a breakdown process for all of the SRs in bc.  I don't think we ladies want to know all that they go through...but I think you can understand WHY they have to go through it.  For the Navy to be strong, it is all about teamwork...having each other's back...whether you like the person or not.  With so many coming into the Navy from different backgrounds, experiences, beliefs, etc...well, I know none of us envy the job the RDCs have.  It couldn't possibly be easy to get all on the "same page."  But somehow they do it...which you will see at PIR.

Just know that the breakdown process takes a few weeks, but by about week 4 of training, they start building them back up into sailors.  That is when you will hear a change in their voices/letters for the positive.

My son hated being asmoed...but it happened.  He was so thrilled to be back with another division a week later.  Your son will be there soon too.  Pray extra hard for him...my son told me that he entered that new division with a better attitude, more determined than ever, so it actually may have been a good thing for my son (his own words).  So...hang in there!  He will pass that test and be back in a group soon!

Yes, Jessica.  I DO remember some of those veterans.  Where did they GO???
Comment by diannep on March 28, 2011 at 1:09pm

I like that, swim4life!  With God, all things ARE possible!

Chimelle:  Thanks so much for sharing that about the asmoed SR.  Mine was one of those when he was at bc.  I asked him when he rejoined a new division if he was a problem or an asset for that new division....without hesitation, he said asset...definitely.  "Asmoed" SRs can get a bad rap.  My son said there were about 5 of them who entered this new division.  He said they were treated badly by the other SRs at first, or ignored.  But he said after a few days, they felt very accepted.

Hi, midi:  Yes, you can give your new sailor a black plain backpack with laptop, cell, a few civilian clothes that they can eventually wear when phased up at A School.  Now this can only be given to them if you meet them at the airport as they fly out.  They cannot have these things as long as they are on RTC.  Those who have sailors moving over to GL A School can give them to their sailors after they have moved on that base, join their families for liberty, and return back to the A School base.

...with God, all things are possible!!!!!

Hey friends.  Hoping you all (y'all) have a wonderful week, hear from your SRs, get some things done, and that those recovering from health issues can keep getting stronger!  Can't wait for graduation!       :)
