marylieu:  They will eventually get mail M-F (maybe even Sat...we have heard both yes and no on Sat). SRs can get setback (asmoed) for many different reasons:

failing a test, medical, disciplinary, emotional reasons, language issues, etc.

But others will be joining their divisions who were asmoed from earlier divisions and are now ready to resume training.  They usually graduate with between 65-75 sailors per division.

R'sproudmom:  I can really relate to what you commented about not being sure of anything.  Seems like there are so many "ifs".

hi ladies, in R's letter he said that they have mail call every week night.  And they can only write on Sundays.  I guess each DIV is different.  There were 88 starting out and three or four have been sent back a week already.  Those are the one's that can't get their acts together or fail at something.  I am not sure of  much of anything.

m3: my son is just 20.

As far as mail goes, my son Ship 12, Div 154 says that he can only get mail on Sunday.  there are 81 in the div.

@Michelle - my hubby left 8th and in his first letters he said they receive letters daily. There is a Mail PO and his job is to hand out the divisions mail everyday. So just depends on how long it takes them to get trained and because they are dealing with mail theres like a federal test they have to take.

I was wondering how many were in the div. Hah he said most of the things they got in trouble for were that people couldn't "write their names on things properly"...so hopefully now that they should be done stenciling their clothes and writing their names on things they will be an awesome division!

I was very glad my husband had his wisdom teeth out a few years ago also! He was in so much pain after getting them out I couldn't imagine him having to go through that at boot camp!!

How old is your son? My husband is 25 and I'm just curious if there are many people older than him in his DIV.

m3:  I too, hope that our phone call is today.  My son is in the same div as your hubby, I hope he's not one of the SRs, causing trouble.  Just kidding, my son is doing very well, he not only wrote me a letter but also wrote to his brother, sister, friend and 2 letters to his girlfriend.  There are 81 in the group.  Lots of them are having their wisdom teeth pulled.  I am so happy he had his out a couple of years ago.  Well, lets hope for a call today!!!!

Michelle my fiance left on 2/24 and first got to call home yesterday... i know someone who left the same time as him...is in a different division than him and has already called home approx 4 times... I think it depends on a lot of things one of which being how quickly the division fills up...found out from Bryan they were in holding almost 2 weeks waiting for the division to fill up
Comment by m3 on March 26, 2011 at 11:19pm
Yeah me too, I still have hope it might be tomorrow!. It does just depend on how the Div is doing and their rdc... In his letter my husband said they had some people in their Div that kept getting in trouble and one of their rdcs....well he didnt have anything nice to say about him haha...so I am just praying they all get their act together and we get a call soon! I have read things were people say their SR earned no extra calls the entire BC because of a bad DIV...I just can't wait for a call! Or at least another letter....
