I think it should be sometime this week sailor mom...the people who got their calls on Friday had sailors who left a week before ours.

For those of you who have received your first phone call when did your recruits leave for BC? My son left on 3/7 so tomorrow makes 21 days......and does anyone know when they can start receiving mail daily  (I was told that might be a possibility)? Anxiously waiting

Anyone who lives in the VA Beach/Norfolk area. I know this doesn't really pertain to this group as much because hopefully all of you will be going to PIR. But just in case there is someone who cannot make it to PIR and you live near VA Beach , there is a group of us planning on meeting one day for lunch (shooting for Thursday, April 28th) the last week of April. I will be there that week for spring break. We would love to meet as many other moms/families etc as possible for lunch one day. If you have a sailor there and they could possible come that would be awesome. If you are in that area and would like to join us please let me know. Send me a private message with your name and number. Thanks

My first letter from my husband finally came today! It's definitely obvious it got lost in the mail! So nice to get a letter Thursday and Saturday! Congrats to all who received phone calls and to those who haven't. I hope you hear from your SR soon!

I want to thank everyone for posting about when the calls might come in! Because of you, I had my phone attached to me all day yesterday and received my boyfriend's call! It was perfect timing! :)

The 3 week call can come on any day of the week and really at pretty much any time. I will say most of the calls we got came in the evenings.

Hey everyone I received another letter today... added update to discussion board for 3/21/11...this particular letter was more personal but there was a small amount of info regarding what our sailors did that day, so I added that info.

I got a call yesterday morning for some additional info for the security clearance. I don't really understand some of what he called for (one call came to the house to hubby as I was at work) and wish I could have talked with someone to clarify what exactly they're looking for. I guess he'll call back if they want other info. It was good to hear his voice again, even if only for a few moments.

hey CMom...so excited to hear your son is helping on Sunday and saying evening prayer before TAPS...it warms my heart knowing there is someone right there in the DIV praying with/for them!!!  :)  it's so great to hear the progress our SRs are making!  so happy for you...
Comment by CMom on March 26, 2011 at 11:57am
swim4life - like your son - mine also is helping in the church on Sundays - he is division 150 chaplin - I think his title is RCPO??  (recruit chaplin petty officer?) Maybe they are in the same Church - my SR said he has met some great guys doing this job.  said he helps in Church on Sundays and gives evening prayer for his division in the evenings before TAPS.  It just warms my heart knowing he is doing this!!  He was starting to 'backslide' before he left for bc -  so I am so happy to know he is on the "right" path again!!
