I got my first letter today, she wrote it on the 18th.  She is doing SO WELL, it was the best letter I have ever read.  She said she stepped up for leadership duty and was proud of her accomplishments. She said she was glad I was on her butt all the time and that she appreciated me and said sorry for taking me for granted.

Funny thing in her letter was:

"THEY CUT THE HELL OUT OF MY HAIR!!!  It's uneven!!  Looks like some four year old got a hold of Jack's scotch and a pair of scissors and went to town on my head!! NO LIE!!  But it's cool, I rock it :-) "

I love her spirit!!  I miss her so much!! I am so PROUD!!!

Hi to Johnsmom:  My son is also headed to Goose Creek SC.  The recruiter had initially told me that he would be able to come home between BC and Nuke School, and get his car and take it down there....but from what I read on here that seems HIGHLY unlikely at this point.  It doesn't really matter a great deal, but I was counting on that all this time.  I have no clue what's going on.  Will pass on any info that I get and hope you will do the same. Thanks!

@marylieu, Peanut Butters are their khaki and black uniforms. They are commonly referred to as "peanut butters". :)

Hang in there - you will hear from your SR before long! It's worth the wait!!

Diannep: Thank you for the information.

marylieu:  Peant butters are their black pants and khaki shirts.  They usually wear those on the days after PIR if they have weekend liberty and are not flying out (must be in dress uniform when flying out to A School).

hey Pearl...I can't find the right facebook page for RTC...??  Just one for US NAVY..can you help me?       Thanks!

Comment by Pearl_Ship 02_Division 924 on March 24, 2011 at 2:22am
me neither...we have gone so long without seeing them...you think they would give us a weekend with them before they have to leave on us again...I have my hotel reservations through Monday, but the cancellation policy is no charge as long as I cancel prior to 4:00pm the day of arrival, so i could can my stay on Saturday or Sunday depending on what time he flies out... if he has a late flight I will stay with him as long as I can and if it is too late I will probably go back to the hotel to sleep before taking my 11 1/2 hour drive home

i just made my reservation through saturday knowing i will probably only have saturday to spend with him. it is hard to let go. i just dont' know how i am going to do it.
Comment by shellfish2 on March 24, 2011 at 12:29am

Pearl,

I read that today too and I got kind of bummed. I was holding out hope that I would get to spend the weekend with my sailor. So now I guess I must pray for ticketing issues I guess. I didn't know this was always the case but I was somewhat shocked to read that as well today.
