this whole week 1, week 2 thing is confusing... Bryan has been there since 2/24 and graduating 4/29, which is 40 days away which is just over 5 weeks away. His letters indicate that they have taken the test on basic navy knowledge.  3/2 he said they went for their full blown physicals and then would be starting the actual pt.  3/3 he took the first written exam.  Any insight appreciated.

itsmonicaaaaa:  Usually they start out being able to write once a week (Sunday)...although some RDCs may allow divisions to write more often...but as bootcamp goes along, they are all usually allowed to write more often.  Hoping that your letter comes next week!

I'm really anxious to hear from my husband. He arrived 3/7 so it would make sense if your husband said the first day of training was the 14th. It's just so confusing that they are all PIRing the same day but got there at such different times! I can't wait to hear what has been going on!

So do they get more than one chance to write a week? because I keep hearing people say they get multiple letters in their first letter and I'm just wondering what to expect!! I'm crossing my fingers for monday!

Also, Dayciavu: Sounds like Mondays will be Day #1 for his division....So this coming Monday, his division will be 2-1 (week 2, day 1).  You should write that down and you can keep track of what week and day he is in.  Weekdy holidays can throw off the day count, but otherwise...sounds like his training weeks will be M (Day 1) through F (Day 5).  Easy to follow!

Oh, and also....being a 900 division which I just noticed....I realize that they would have practice for the PIRs they participate in prior to their own, so disregard my statement below about that.

oh lord!! i didn't get my sons's letter yet; i certainly hope he isnt' among the ones who isn't taking it seriously!! fingers crosssed!! thanks for the update!! so happy to hear most everyone are getting letters!

Dayciavu:  I don't think they start PIR practice this early.  The official day of training for a division is 1-1 (week 1, Day 1).  They go up to Day 5 before they change to the next week number.  Weekends do not count as training days, nor do holidays.  Once they are 6-5  (week 6, Day 5)and higher, they are in BattleStations.  My son's BattleStations day was on 6-5, but he happened to go the first night of them, which in his case was a week before PIR.  So I bet your SR was referring to the end of PDays (Processing Days) and the first day of actual bootcamp training.

Yay so happy for you Daycia...my letters only went up to 3/7 and at that point he hadn't received any letters... can't wait for the next package so I can see how he is doing more... bryan said the same thing, that they get in trouble cuz there are a select few who are arrogant, and aren't taking things as seriously as they should.  When you say training on the 14th, what do you mean... Per my letters I knew they were doing PT and even had a test already on the basic knowledge of the navy.  Just curious what they are doing now.

hang in there dmb, I am sure your letter is coming. They may just live closer than you. I am sure he is missing you and can't wait to hear from you as well. :-)
