Hi SailorMom2011,  my son is with yours and did receive that first form type letter on Monday, but have yet to receive a "real letter."  I guess another day of mail carrier stalking is on my agenda.  Oh I can't wait.

PCMom:  There are only 9 divisions in this group.  There will be room for your son.  Your SR son will not be able to update his list until 2 weeks before PIR, which is a bit late to make hotel reservations in some cases. Since you are driving, no problem with flight reservations, but you should go ahead and reserve a room.  Some of the hotels fill up.  If you reserve one at Residence Inn, you can get the 2 separate bedrooms, 2 baths, living room/kitchen if you want...that is what we did when I took my older son with me...worked out great.  But hurry...those go more quickly. They have a lenient cancellation policy so no worries.

We may all end up in the middle of nowhere together. I need to get the room booked, but my mom's in a wheelchair which really limits our choices. Looking at all the prices really scares me. Plus the thought of adding meals and gas on top. Yikes. But I wouldn't miss it for anything!

i didn't get a letter today.  i am not so heartbroken as we are in the transiton of moving but i am longing to hear from my son.  no phone call yet --is that so messed up??!!- and i just need hear from him.  i am a mess - crying at every thought & longing to hold my son in my arms. just one hug. one phone call. something.

i reserved a room 1.5 miles from site. i figured the earlier the better but there is always the chance to get a room regardless.  it's no more than 114 for 2 nights.

You don't need any money to reserve the room, they take your credit or debit card number but don't charge it or put a hold on it until you arrive.

itsmonicaaa- there is a good chance you will get a letter this soon. Especially if others in his division are getting letters. My daughter was the last to arrive in her division as well and she was able to write the first Sunday she was there. I actually got a real letter the day before I got the form letter. It also made for a shorter stay at bootcamp. :-)

I'm hoping for some type of communication from my guy but he didn't go in until 3/8 so I'm sure I'll have to wait another week.

Hey everyone. I guess my husband doesn't miss me as much as I thought he would ;) My house got two letters today. One addressed to my little sister who is 6 years old and the other to my mom but not one for me LOL! I called my mom and begged her to let me open it to see how he's doing. He's doing great! :) Not one complaint about not liking boot camp so far. My favorite quote to my mom was, "hey if you feel the urge to send food to me, my RDC will eat it" My mom is one of those people who is ALWAYS cooking and anytime we have visitors she insists they eat something or atleast have a drink. I'm hoping I get a letter tomorrow to ME. It's okay i'm very glad he is doing great and seems happy.

I also got my info on obtaining my dependent ID card.

Hope everyone who is getting letters is enjoying them!
