Hello All,

My best friend left for bootcamp on 03/02 so I am assuming that she will most likely be in this PIR group! Yay, this is a great resource and has been so helpful for her family and I thus far.

We haven't received her form letter yet and her recruiter is refusing to give her mother her address, he says he does not have it, so we are just waiting around like everyone else. :(

We are planning on going to PIR and I think that we have decided to stay at the Navy Lodge because it is very close, and well frankly it seems like the best deal.

So I am hoping this is the correct PIR group for her and that when we get her form letter we won't find out she is graduating on 5/6 instead.

Ladies, when we say the PIR shuttle from the hotel, they are actually taxi minivans.  The hotel orders up the number they feel they need each PIR day.  They are $3/pp each way and sailor returns with you for free.

Stacy, I agree with Lala.  It is a rather small area, but we felt safe.  We stayed at Residence Inn, which is near an officepark and a quiet area, but not far away.  It is close to the Courtyard and Springhill Suites also (both good hotels).  They are next to the Walmart shopping center which has restaurants, etc there.  All 3 of these have the PIR shuttle.

Stacy, it is a small town and the area seemed fine to me. We stayed at the Navy Lodge $65 a night and no taxes :-)

Natalie is in Division 148 so I guess she'll be PIR 4-22 also.  :(  Can I stay in your group anyway to get the updates?

Has anyone here ever been to Chicago? I'm looking at hotels in Waukegan, but I'm scared if it's a good part of town or not? anybody know???

Yes Sherri right?

We've been talking for a while now! Her son got into div 148 so now she's a week before me on PIR. but we are still going to talk!

and by rate do you mean what his job will be? He's going to be an IT

what does a CTN do?

And Sherri started it and mentioned in a comment of either keeping it up or showing me how but I don't know how to. so I guess that's up to you or maybe ask her? I'm really not sure!

Comment by CMom on March 7, 2011 at 10:57pm

Yes - he left from Indy 3/2 - his rate is CTN - what about your bf?

You should check out the leaving in March page there is another person that left 3/1.  go to discussions on that group - look for the Calendar - it shows who is leaving when!  here is the link;

http://www.navyformoms.com/group/leavinforbootcampinmarch

There are other gf - wifes- moms that will or have left this month!  I will spread this link to those who will PIR on 4/29.  We should be seeing a lot of people here soon!!  Do you know if Sherri is going to do this calendar?  If not I can start one!  It's a lot of fun to "see" who your SR is with!!  Just let me know!

yay! glad to have another member in the group still having PIR on 4/29! :)

Yes I'll be the moderator for this group. I added a countdown above if you're ever curious about how many days we have left!

So did your son leave on 3/2?

My boyfriend left on 3/1 in division 149
