Sherri:  Boxes usually come by FedEx.

aelkins:  Did you get that date in the form letter?  Just wondering how you knew the date was 4/29?  And the PIR's (graduation ceremony for families/friends) is open only to those invited by the sailors.  It is not something that the general public can attend.

If you have received the form letter, there will be no other packet received after that.  The form letter usually comes with graduation info in it (although when my son was there, he forgot to include it!).  Have you received that?  This group is trying to confirm whether the PIR date is 4/29 or 5/6, and if you received a form letter, you may have the answer for them!

Welcome to the group!

What am I looking for as far as GRADUATION being posted?  I am a rookie and appreciate any help.

My son graduates April 29. We read somewhere that not all graduations are open to the public.  How often does this happen and should we wait to get our packet before  booking our flights?

Thank you Krystina's MOM!  I now know what vehicle to stalk in my neighborhood:)

I think JessicaB gave great advice, on one of these boards about forwarding your home phone to your cell.  Due to current technology, kids have moved away from memorizing phone numbers.  He wouldnt even know the phone number, if he did not have to learn it in grade school.  So I worry that he wont take the time to look at his address list, rather just call home (since he doesnt have my number memorized).  I did tell him to call my cell, since I travel alot of work... so we will see what happens:)

PS I dont remember my OWN phone number half the time :)

Val and Stacy-

I think we are ALL in the same boat for number of invites:)  I doubt anyone that is on N4M is giving up any tickets :)  So have your SR ask his buddies.  If you look at the number of love ones on here... it is really small.  Compared to how many are actually at BC.  So that leads me to believe that alot will not attend PIR due to distance/cost and maybe not as close with their SR.  So I am bringing my whole clan, and asking my son to work his magic at BC.  If they dont get in, I am not worried... They will see him durning liberty.  I am not going to stress over the "others' with me, BUT if I am not on the list- I will be throwing a fit lol (I know he wouldn't do that!)

Do the boxes come by mail, fed ex, or UPS?  Still trying to wait.... But seeing other families getting thiers the same day mine left, is stressing me out!!!  Just want to know who to watch for!  We are only a 5-6 drive away! Ugh!!!! please come today!

As soon as someone gets a form letter you will know what the PIR date is for anyone in that div and most likely for anyone on this group page at this time. Hopefully sometime this week the letters will be pouring in.

Southwest is the only airline that doesn't charge a fee for changing the date of your flight and for some reason prices for all the airlines seem to be cheaper on Tuesday nights and Wednesdays from what I have read in other groups.

Comment by Stacy(Div 149/Ship 3) on March 5, 2011 at 1:39am
I really hope they send up their PIR dates soon. I just checked air/hotel/car rates and they are all going up more and more because of gas of course, and because it's getting closer and closer and the prices are going higher and higher. Ugh, better start working some more to save up some money!
