NavyMom4J-My son's in Pensacola going CTN. He says it's much more relaxed than GL was. He's been doing some running and things like laundry, getting his hair cut, etc. He's doing the INDOC class which lasts until next Wednesday then he has to wait to class up. I'm sure he'll be looking for something to do soon.

Navywifeandmom- ok, I have been resisting face book for sooooo long- I just might have to break down and do it inorder to be a member of the face book RTC group you created!  I have been so depressed after getting home-

It is so nice to text and email now- does anyone else have a son at Pensacola going into CTT?  My son is on hold waiting for classes to start- could be a while. He volunteered to do Evening colors-he said it is a neat change and he does not have to muster and march in the evening this week because he is doing evening colors- it is the Flag ceremony taking the flag down at night- really really cool- you can youtube it.

I agree with you Carrie - it's almost depressing. lol! I'm happy BC is over for them but at the same time, I miss the snail mail (crazy, huh?) between us. For those who use facebook, I've created a Group called RTC PIR 04/29/11 to keep in contact with all of the moms/wives/etc who want to keep in touch. If you would like to be a part of this private group, inbox me with info to add you.

Carrie I completely agree with you....I've been feelin depressed almost lost again I guess we're all starting a new chapter like our Sailors. We too had a wonderful wkend. and was able to spend the whole wkend. with our son. Although it made fo a long night driving home Sun but it was worth it. Mine has also been able to call each day and facebook but it almost makes me miss him even more that I can't reach out and touch him.....but we will survive I know

We too had a great time this past weekend! Am still amazed at the changes in my son in such a short time.

We were able to spend much of the weekend with our son.  It was wonderful! We experienced quite a bit.. and had a lot of laughs!

Jen, it was nice to see you..although I think I startled you when I walked up to you in the hotel. ha

mamajill...your family is a hoot. I enjoyed the friendly banter at breakfast Saturday morning. I must say I am embarrassed by my appearance that morning...  I woke up before everyone so I thought I would slip out,eat a bite and then get on the treadmill.. I dont normally go out in public looking like that! ha

Thanks for suggesting I get info at the nex about the division shirts...I was able to get in touch with the company yesterday and placed an order. :)

So... am I the only one feeling semi depressed?  I had been devoting an awful lot of energy towards this.  Writing letters everyday... sometimes driving across town to the main post office so that I wouldnt miss a day. Getting on the N4M website couple times a day ... reading all I could etc etc....  So excited about it all and now its over.... Although I m very proud and thrilled at the outcome so far... I can't help but feel a little bit sad........

Back home now. Had a great weekend.  Got to visit with my son Friday after Graduation  and at the Airport Saturday as his plane to SC didn't leave until 2 PM.  He is now settled in at his new destination and just having that cell phone and e-mail contact is going to make all the difference.  We really enjoyed his "boot camp" stories and seeing how he appreciated the simple things after being there so long.  He was so excited about the radio, seeing people walk around on the street and even the "softness of the toilet paper at the Hotel" :)  Good luck to you all.
