I got home around midnight last night. I was so happy to be able to spend the weekend with Rick but was very sad to have to leave. He's going to be in Great Lakes going to A and C School for the next year so I'm planning on flying out every few months until he has a permanent duty station.

It was so wonderful meeting both of the Jessica's along with Jill and Cherre. I wish you all the best!

I

am still bursting with Pride watching all our sailors march through that door! My son was hard to spot but I caught a glimpse of him as he marched by- I also went to the airport and was able to hang out in the USO with him- meet alot of his division friends : Chimelle- I met your Sailor - my J introduced him to me. But I did not know he was yours until this posting below of his picture!  My son also went to Pensacola at 11:30 Saturday too.  We also hung out at the Gurney Mills mall- and met a lot of sailors there - was fun to hear them talking together and telling stories....and getting to know other sailors too! It was so worth being able to see him at the airport - WHAT MILITARY BEARING they all HAVE !!!  It is so nice to be able to text him now and have open communication!

Hope to stay in touch with all of you !!

Wow! PIR was absolutely amazing! E came out and was guarding the south wall so Lauren and I got to go ever and LOOK at him and take PICTURES of him! Was so hard not to be able to hug him. He was a body snatcher, so he got to move around. Came back to the room and chilled with him. Then to dinner, too short, he had to be back on base by 9pm. Prayed to the Lord that he wouldn't have to leave too early the next day. Answered prayer, his plane didn't depart to A school in Maryland till 2:30pm Yayyy!, thank the Lord for another day to spend with him. So we toured Chicago! It was so much fun to be together. Seeing him leave was very hard again, but now he has his iphone and can have his laptop at school. Love this site! It was great meeting Daycia and her cute little son (In Navy Camo, too cute). God Bless you all. Mary T. meemee56

Son..154

PIR was a most fabulous experience. We brought him back to the base at 800pm and then came back to the hotel for 4 hours sleep , after whcih we headed for Midway and stayed there until 600am.   Drove back to the Ramada and got there at about 7pm.  We were so tired, but it was so worth it.  Let me also just say....that this experience has been such a bonding one between my children.  It was terrific to see them writing to each other and to go through the early morning flight from jfk...being stuck on the tarmac for over 2 hours....the early call to go to PIR.....the midnight call to go to the airport....no one ever complained....I am just so very proud, not only of my sailor, but for all that have supported him.
