Remember that this journey is just as much about you being in training as it is for our recruits.  Things change, schedules change, they can not always tell you everything, there will be times when you do not hear from them for a while, there will be ups and downs and everything in between, they will see people drop, leave the service, rollback and finish their training.  Focus on today and learn not to worry about tomorrow.  Always be encouraging and uplifting even when your heart is breaking, they do not need to be worrying about us and how we are dealing with things.  This journey is a difficult one for the ones at home and not knowing what is going on and hard to grasp when you are still so new to it, relax and breathe and it will get better

If you are looking at flying, check prices at Milwaukee it can save you a great deal of money, I booked 1 week out and saved over $200 per ticket.

Another thing to remember as it is hard when you see others getting letters and you are not, no news is good news!!  Fell blessed when others share what is going on, some will write more than others. Stay positive in your letters even if they sound down, or sick in the ones you get, by the time you get another one things will have changed.

I know how you feel CorpsmanGirl08. I was hoping to get a letter when everyone was posting about getting them today. Nothing for me either though. His sister got a letter, but not me. I have high hopes that I will get something tomorrow. It's hard to stay positive, but it's important with our loved one so far away and probably going through much worse than we are.

I have to admit, im really jealous of all the people who got letters today... when I seen everyone posting on here that they were receiving letters i text my bfs mom, she got one today from him but it was addressed to his dog daisy..... :( he said it sucks but he's getting through it and also that his division is NOT 174 but 173..... :P so that means my 16 letters i've sent will be delayed getting to him..... blah. i cried about 5-6 times today in all. not a good day. but congrats to everyone that got letters! YAY!

so happy for those who received letters :) still waiting on mine...impatiently.  GF got hers so hopefully tomorrow there might be a little something waiting for me when I get home.  Otherwise I might have to fly up to GL a little early and check it out for myself (haha, jk!)

We got our first letter today.  He doing ok but not loving it.  I think he now appreciates my cooking, eating in front of the tv and taking naps on the living room floor.

I see~good to know!  TY

So our kids got the black card.  How long does it last?  Is it a weekly thing?

Comment by Brandis_Mom on April 7, 2011 at 8:31pm
Tricsious most of my knowledge is from having gone through it when my husband joined the Navy 10 years ago and a lot of it came from when I was a volunteer for the Naval Sea Cadet program and went to their boot camp, which is just a down sized version of the real thing.

Brandis mom~where did you learn this?  Is there something I can read further?  I'm intersted in learning more.  You seem more educated that some of us.  Do you have past exp or is it from this site?  thanks for your help!

There are different IT cards black is the worse. It basically means the RDC can do any IT they want for as long as they want. IT means intensive training, which can be physical or book or oral, it all depends on what the RDC decides to have them do.
