I was talking earlier about the key for the computers... it is called a CAC card. Anyone know what it is or where we can purchase them? I hope we can find one at the NEX.

Where do we print out the passes again?

With all the discussions about lap tops, etc, I want to add a word of caution.  We have a tendency to still want to take care of our sailors, but moms can't do everything, especially now that these children you sent off to boot camp are going to be men and women when you see them.  They will get a pay check and go through a money management class (not that they'll be rolling in dough, but they will have money!).  They also can get military discounts and are restricted to what they can have depending on where they're headed.  If you still need or want to purchase something for them when you get to RTC, there are lots of stores near the base other than the NEX.  Gurnee MIlls is an outlet mall, but there's a Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, etc. around too.  With so little communication with recruits, you might need to wait to find out what is really going on with what they want or need.  You just need to wait 10 days now!

I just printed mine also.  I can't believe we are finally to this point!  So nervous to hear about all the final tests.  If they had failed the final PFA, would they have called to tell us?

@coloradoconnie-I couldn't do it either.  I think I saw somewhere (on the FB page) to fill it in.

I need to ask a silly question... Do we just fill in the info on the gate pass or is there a way to edit the PDF and have it printed up? Then, does each individual need to print one up?

CynRipp  There is a BATTLESTATIONS discussion above in the discussion listing.. but so far I haven't seen the actual date for Div 927. I did hear that they are either worked in win some of the other div.'s or that they may be the last group to go. I wish I knew and could tell you! But the other divisions do have dates. Just click view all and it should be there in the first page. It also tells a little bit about what they will be going through!

There are hotspots on the bases that they don't have to pay to use but if they want it in their rooms they have to pay to have it installed or pay for a wireless card for their computer that will make it work anywhere. That is what my daughter did. She actually bought a small laptop from her phone provider that included internet for a monthly fee. The laptop ended up being free with the contract and monthly charge.

Happy Monday All! Well, no word this weekend from the "B". But I am hoping that if he did get a phone call that he called his girlfriend! I know that these past couple of weeks have been quite intense! I have my hubby with me but she is by herself! As far as PIR gift goes, I will leave the backpack ,duffel and garment bag up to him. He has never liked the things I give him. LOL I read somewhere (from Craig I think) that they will all need a computer "Key drive? Whatever that is ? Did anyone else see that somewhere? It is something they will all need for their computers! It is encrypted I think. I will see if I can remember where I saw that. Does anyone else know what I am talking about? Or where we can get them, or what they cost?

Lala! What gifts you have! Your poem was Wonderful! Bless your heart for writing that! As well as everything else you do for all of us!!
