Since we will all be sitting in the same section of the bleachers at PIR, maybe it would be nice to have us all post something here in this section. We could keep up with what the Division is doing…Continue

I have a group here called Navy Moms of Divorced Sailors. It takes a special woman to be a military wife who stays faithful and can withstand the separations. You can read the ugly stories for yourself. The worse part about my son's divorce is that the state of Illinois does not grant even partial custody to military members when kids are involved. If the ex moves back home, the sailor has little opportunity to see his/her children over the years.
And happy Mother's Day! We'll all celebrate on the 20th!
saraelaine: Don't be surprised if your SR is told that he can have nothing personal after PIR (told by the RDC's). Because as long as he is on RTC base, he cannot. Once he leaves that base, he is allowed these things (at the airport).
Scoutbeach: They are issued a Navy "seabag" at RTC. The duffel/backpack is strictly a suggestion for any "carryon" personal items---solid black.
Ruth: They do sell the black backpacks at the NEX, but some are afraid they may run out of them, so they try to buy them ahead of time if they are planning to send personal items with their sailors to A School.
Funny about the "wife being issued if needed" statement! My son had said the same thing! But now he is engaged...so oh well!
They do issue them a garment bag. But some say it is a cheap one and tears. So JessicaBSailor had suggested that you may want to get them one as a grad gift. My son's made it to his duty station....as far as I know. Maybe the baggage handlers were more careful with his! :-)
Good morning and Happy Mothers Day!
I'm working on the BattleStations schedule in the discussion group above. Please take a look at it, and if you see errors or have more info to confirm questionable dates, please post. We have questionmarks on a few divisions. and are still waiting to hear dates. Thanks!
