I am happy to report another upbeat letter from my SR!!  He's doing great, sounds like all the "grud" has finally passed and he said he "destroyed" (a good thing) his latest PST! Too funny... Love to hear his excitement for graduation and to move on to pre-buds! Yay!! His boat crew received the highest avaerage on test 2 and so they are hoping to be rewarded with a phone call :)  fingers crossed... Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Hi All,

 *****7/175 Info*****

My SR just sent me 2 letters! he said that they have their PFA this upcoming week and BS21 is on day 6-4, 5-16-11 (today is 5-3).  He also said they ALL received National Defense Medals and ribbons for serving during a time of war. The ribbons are called McDonalds ribbons because they are the McDonalds colors lol!

@Triscious, I knew I saw my daughter in that pic on FB!! If you get a call from your SR, ask them if EVERYONE passed the PFA plssssssss. Mine's out of time on her card and I won't know if she passed it or not :(

I'm not so sure there won't be a list now that they actually check since the bases are on heightened alert.  I believe we will have 1 extra ticket, but I know they have to give names, which mine did a month ago.

Arms:  Did your SR say that you would receive the I'm a Sailor call on the 18th?  I had 177/178 down for the 17th/18th (overnight drill) for BattleStations as reported from other SRs.
Comment by diannep on May 6, 2011 at 5:08pm

1ProudMomma:  Yes, they know right away whether they passed the PFA.

HisBelovedLinda: There are no actual tickets...with only 8 divisions in this group, you won't have a problem getting "extras" in...even though RTC only guarantees 4seats/per sailor.  Just make sure that you all have proper ID and your extra is with you when you arrive at PIR.

gfr16 - my SR is in 07/177; and their BattleStations is on May 18th, not sure if that helps at all.

I would love to hear from anyone who attended PIR today...what a glorious day it must have been for you :)  Enjoy your weekend and Happy Mother's Day to you all!

Hisbelovedlinda - You can write your SR and ask them to have another SR add you to their guest list if they have space; also see the excerpt below about additional guests (not sure if you want to take the chance of them not seeing PIR, but they will be able to see your Sailor during Liberty).

Also, please see the info below from RTC website (http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/faq_family.asp)

Four seats are guaranteed per recruit; however, children 12 years old and younger do not count against the four-guest maximum. The graduating recruit is responsible for identifying those individuals to be placed on the access list. Please coordinate with your recruit via letters regarding who will be on the access list. No additions, deletions or changes will be made to the access list the week of graduation. The four guests on the access list will be admitted into the ceremonial drill hall first. Additional guests not on the access list will have to wait inside the Visitor Center until after the start of the ceremony at which time they will be allowed into the ceremonial hall if additional seating is available as space permits. No additional seating can be guaranteed.  PLEASE DO NOT CALL FOR ADDITIONAL SEATS.  All visitors must have valid photo identification. This requirement includes children (school ID, Social Security card or copy of birth certificate). Please be aware that security may deny base admission to guests NOT on the access list if they are not accompanied by a guest who is on the access list.

I have a question:  does anyone attending May 20th PIR have an extra ticket from their recruit that's just NOT going to be used?  Please let me know!  I know everyone gets 4, but some families do not need all of them.  Just asking for my son!  thanks, Hisbelovedlinda
