Dennise....send him questionnaires where he can circle the answers to your questions. There are some samples posted above. I sent one to my daughter and I will see if she sends it back. I also sent a self-addressed stamped envelope with it. My daughter isn't a letter writer either, but her first letter to me was 2 1/2 pages long. I didn't expect her to write so much, but I was pleasantly surprised. You may be surprised too......With regard to the "box" he probably donated the clothes. I would only worry about it if he had a cell phone, ipod, or anything else valuable on him that needed to be sent back to you.

Was hoping for another letter today, but I know it probably won't be until tomorrow or Thursday. Dennise....When did your SR get the boot camp? My daughter left on 3/23 and I got my daughter's box the following Monday, but the form letter did not come until last Monday, then I got the first real letter last Wednesday.

Hello All! Happy Monday! If you can please add your sons/daughter ship/div after your names so we will all know if your son/daughter is in the same ship/div. as ours. Better way to get to know one another. ;-) Looking forward to getting to know more of you!!!! Goooooo Navy Moms! Hooyah!

No call yesterday. I was just hoping. Gave up going to Flyers game just in case she called. But it was awesome on TV. No letter today, but I mailed three to her today (breakdown of the flyers game, one of the Phillies game, and an article I thought she would enjoy). I also just got word that my daughter's best friend is moving to Florida right after PIR (she is coming with us) to care for her mother who is dying of cancer. My daughter and her have been best friends since 1st grade, lost touch in the high school years, and became close again about 2 years ago. I feel like I am losing another daughter. She still comes over to dinner every Sunday and Tuesday and has even stayed here a night or too since my daughter left. I am really going to have an empty nest after PIR. She said she wrote to Jess and told her she was going. That was about all for my day. Take care Ladies and hope we get more mail and a phone call soon.

Got a couple more letters from hubby today....:) he got picked as squad leader. He has to get his wisdom teeth pulled out and go on bed rest as well hopefully that won't put him behind.

:-( no phone call here either. I bring my cell everywhere too. Everytime it rings or buzzes I get all excited and of course a little depressed when it's not my son. Well, here it is another Monday. The start of another week. Another week which brings us closer to PIR. Hang in there girls.

Mikeproudmom, I feel the exact same way you do, my son too left on the 23rd. reached several milestones so far, just think next week we'll be half way through. Ladies this is tough, one of the hardest things for a parent to do, but we'll all hang in there together. I can only imagine what it's like for our kids. Have a good Monday.
