Hi girls......got my first letter today from my son. I can't explain how I feel. Jubilant..maybe is a good word. He's in ship 4 div 192. He said the div hasn't really started bootcamp yet because the medical processing has been so slow. The letter was dated Easter Sunday. He's laundry PO.. I still can't believe it.. laundry.. I was always on his case about his wash on his bedroom floor. It really is a relief to receive a letter. I hope everybody gets one real soon. It feels like a piece of you is back!!!

wow, that is awesome. Sounds like a trip to Italy is in order. What is his job?

hmm, thanks Jessica, so do they always move? just because I have written a letter and mailed it everyday since he's been gone and now I'm wondering if I should not send anymore till I get an actual letter from him. I know they will forward but yikes, it takes too long if they don't have to forward it.

Does anybody know why they switch divisions?

No letter for me today, what a disappointment, well at least we are not alone in the waiting. You ladies are saving my sanity.

kimberlyr....Hopefully you will get a letter this week. If your son is ship 04, div 192, they are together. If so, at least from my daughter's letter, you have some info on whats going on.

t-wifey....I would definately put the anniversary card in the mail now. Even if he gets it early, at least he will get it before your anniversary and know that you are constantly thinking of him. I write a letter every morning when I get to work and make sure it goes out with the am mail pickup. I think I read somewhere that they will not be able to start getting their mail until next week so make sure you date everything you send them.

I will keep my fingers crossed that you get real mail from your loved ones very very soon.

Ugh, no letters... and I got my hopes up thinking that maybe I'd get something today, but I guess it really does take 5 days from IL to GA (unless I'm not getting anything this week *gasp*). I've never been that disappointed in the mailbox. I guess if it takes that long I should probably get his anniversary card in the mail tomorrow... Easter didn't bother me, but he's missing our first wedding anniversary & I'm pretty bummed. Grr... I hate this, but hopefully I'll get used to it. )o:

Afternoon all. It is such a nice day here that I decided to work a half day. That goodness I did because I had not one but two real letters from my daughter (ship 04 Div 192). She wrote last Friday at night and then again on Easter. Let me tell you, she sounds like a different person already. They put her division in with the Seals and they are working them hard. She said that the first week everything hurt even her hair. She said she likes being Master of Arms because so far and hopes she can keep it through out boot camp. She said that her 3 officers are good. The Head Chief is a female coreman (nurse), the 2nd Class Petty Officer worked on subs and he is real strict but knows his stuff, and the chief of the house is a quiet southern boy who is not as strict as the other, but still strict. All three of them personally know her recruiter. She sounded great though. Said she only cried during the day on Easter when she thought we were all at her Aunts having dinner and that now she really appreciates those family gatherings. Hopefully she will get my letter soon and she will know that none of the family got together this year for Easter and we all when our separates ways. Our kids are all grown and either in bootcamp or college. And she actually misses her crazy Jack Russell who she gave to me about 2 months after she got him because he is a handful, but he is the most lovable dog ever but he is definately crazy.

I hope that everyone who is waiting for a letter gets one this week by Friday. It does put your mind to ease just to see that they are doing ok.
