Jess's Mom- From everything I have read, if your sailor is going to stay in Great Lakes for a-school you will be able to get the weekend with them AFTER they spend a few hours moving their stuff over to base. After the move, you should be able to have them (day and night) for the whole weekend. Atleast this is what I have read, anyone please correct me if I'm wrong. =)

lovemysailor- My boyfriend is heading to San Diego, CA as far as we knew before he left for boot camp. I live in Massachusetts.... CA feels like worlds away. I wish we could know exactly what time their flight leaves. It would be nice to be able to plan my return flight... haha

So I have been reading posts all day long from my blackberry, but I can't log onto N4M at work because I work for a government agency and they block almost everything. For some reason, I cannot post from my blackberry. I have been searching for a good hotel to stay at that is not too expensive, clean, good reviews, and must have WiFi. Every site I go to and read the reviews they are so mixed. Some like it, some would never stay there again, etc. I don't want to wait too long and not be able to get a decent room. Any suggestions would be helpful. Now on to the airfare. From Philadelphia and/or Atlantic City, it is going to run me close to $375 and up per person round trip and that is for 3 people. I put my info into airfare watchdog and hopefully a good price will come through.

As to Grad and Go, my daughter was 99.9% sure that her A school will be in Great Lakes so does that mean she will get to stay with us for the weekend? I am not sure when to book my return flight Sunday, Monday or even Tuesday.

Any help or suggestion would be great.

Sailormoeasgirl- just to let u know I emailed her as well to try and get a little more info she said that the day of graduation, they should have liberty until about nine pm and then a shuttle will take them to the airport sat and that we can meet them at the airport to hang out with them before there flight leaves. So atleast we will get a little time. Its a bummer we don't get the whole weekend with them but we had talked before he left about me and our son visiting him at A school in fl for a weekend...so we will see ...its a nine hour drive and I will be 8 months prego by then lol. Hope this helps a litte thanks for sharing that email address with us. Where is ur boyfriend going to school at?

So I thought that if they were grad and go it was diff per recurite....so if they are grad and go doesn't that mean that there clasesses are starting right away??? And I talked to my husbands recuriter today and he said they wouldn't know if it was grad and go tell they got there orders.....I'm so confused now.

wifey, it's hard. We have to take one day at a time.. just as the recruits do. Every day brings us one day closer. I have my baby son (17) at home and my husband. It is helpful and gives me strength to have that support on a daily basis at home. Our family schedule is not the same, just a little deviated. I don't know how much harder it might be to have my spouse gone. I can only imagine. I miss my Robbie terribly. His constant smiles and laughter lit up the house. Anyhow, I'm sure he's got the division laughing... :-)
