My son is div 189 and will be staying at GL. I'm liking what I'm hearing, I hope it ends up that way. On a separate note, I talked to the Residence Inn today and they are not extending their Navy rate past May 17th, so that makes their rooms $159 not the $79 and $89 that has been previously quoted on here. They say it's their peak season so they don't give the deep discounts.

Ahhh ok. Thanks SailorMoe & nanmcman, I've already booked my flight & rental car for PIR & was worried after I read that about the DIV being Grad & Go. I'd hate to be hanging out in GL alone for the weekend.

It depends on what their "job" is in the navy, and where their school is, and the schedule that is set up for each sailor. Three years ago, my oldest son graduated and his A school was changed a few weeks before graduation. He stayed in GL for his school, and we were able to spend the whole weekend with him. He had to move his stuff though. They changed the housing for him though. Jason will be going to Pensacola so we just have to wait to hear when he will be shipping out. My girlfriend's son graduated this past Friday. He left for Pensacola the next morning at 6 am. So everyone is different.
