I have sent kid to college and sent a kid to bootcamp. Bootcamp is MUCH more difficult. It is a completely different emotional experience.
I get to send my daughter off to school 8 hours away in a few weeks. I am not going to like it but it is a piece of cake compared to BC. My second son ( sailor is son number 1) found a full time summer job near his school. He plays college football so he only was able to come from for a month- but I liked that month. He got the job, daughters college came into town to do her registration and parent orientation and my sailor shipped all in the same 2 week period. Emotional overload!
On Friday I get to see all 3 of my kids. I wish it was together but I will take what I can get.
here4... Call RTC! Ask what'sd going on. I just could not take it anymore so I called.
ME SR PASSED HER RUN! THANK YOU JESUS! PRAIS GOD! I cried like a baby to the RTC...LOL! She is in firefighting right now and will be in BS@! TONIGHT! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To all those moms n dads, boyfriends, girlfriends and such...one thing I hope you remember is that your sons and daughters will HAVE changed a bit!! You may have noticed it with the phone calls and letters! They have grown not only emotionally, physically but matured!! You may want to shower them with hugs and xxx's..but one thing I shall always remember is an retired sailor telling me "respect who they are and what they have become and be damn proud of them!:....Just a heads up! As a retired military wifey...seen to many times parents, families, etc. rushing towards the one they love and the shock on their faces when the sailor stepped back from the hug! That magical moment will come in due time...God Bless them all! Safe travels!
I always told my daughter, "Even when you are old and gray, you're still my baby"
I think every major point in their lives will be hard on us (sigh) but at least they are still our babies (ha ha).
