I didn't hear from my SR any word on her A school orders. She'll be going to corpsman training. Her recruiter told her she'd go to GL (even though a few weeks before she left, he told her it might be…Continue

Parrot. It was a camp that totally turned my 17-year-old son around about two years ago. I'm so grateful for those programs. My daughter went to camp with me last week and she said that it was a "life-changing" event for her to. It is so fun to see her growing into such a neat young lady from the wonderful little girl she has always been.
Jeff, I'm having a bit of a day like that myself. The aftermath of all the busyness of the past couple of months. Deep breath and self talk, "I'm okay, I'm okay. Life is good, all is well." Ha ha! Glad to know I am not alone. So glad for this sight that I don't have to feel all alone. :)
Have a great day!
I just must share the past 24 hours with you all. My oldest son Joel just 16 went to church camp this week. He is quiet but funny, loves the lord and keeps his feelings under his hat 99% of the time! He came home Saturday night and I just knew it would be like pulling teeth for him to tell me what all he did in camp! Boy was I wrong!
He stood there in the kitchen and started to weep as he told me about the realization he had come to. That he wanted to devote his life to serving the Lord and would go and do whatever God had in store for him! That was even a greater moment than PIR!
Last night during service there was a presentation from the youth that went to the retreat. Several gave testimonies. I have never seen so many teenage boys not just moves to tears but sobbing because they had be so deeply touched and convicted! At the end of service the entire congregation went to the Alter and prayed for the teens that stood on stage. Never seen a more powerful moment! PRAISE GOD ALL MIGHTY!
Thank you all for the get well prayers...My tummy still not well after 5 days but my heart is GREAT! :o)
Barrablanca....i dont think they are roommates because my son is rooming with a guy from his division (930) and a guy that has been there about a month. Did your son fly out on Sat. or Sun? My son flew out with a smaller group on sat and said a bigger group came on sun.
Could you get Lorie to Tucson?? I suppose I could pick her up in Phx it's only 2 hours away! ;-)
Ok Lorie. Pack your bags up ; ) I'll get you to AZ sometime Saturday morning.
My daughter used to play in a Nike basketball tournament every summer in Phoenix. I have made that drive in a suburban filled with teenaged basketball players. There is a whole lot of nothing between here and there. We used to count the cactus to keep from going crazy. My husband lies to drive which is good for me. I will be listening to books, reading or long car trips put me to sleep. Come join the madness.
Woohoo! I just got back from my girl's camp experience with no electronics for a week and I am so ecstatic to see the news from Here4! I don't htink I have prayed so hard for a long time as I had for your sailor. It was very emotional for me because when we flew back from PIR, we met a sailor who did not make it and was flying home. I just kept praying that would not be your sailor!!!!! My heart sunk when I read the post that said they were only going to give her a few more chances. Then I left for camp. As soon as I got back I logged on to check and was so thrilled and releived to see that she had made it. What a great picture!!!! No wonder those boys were getting in trouble for fraternizing. Who could resist such a cutie? Congratulations!
I was also thrilled to see that this thread is still going strong. I just can't get the hang of Facebook. It takes so much more time and is so confusing with all of the different threads and conversations.
Exhausted and dirty, taking off now. Will be the first night in my own bed for way too long! :)
