I am so happy for all of you!

Thought I would share that we just received the DVD of our son's PIR (6/4), so it takes approx 5 weeks to receive it. If s/he also ordered the Keel Yearbook, that takes longer (was told about 8-9 weeks).

I am so glad everyone had a great time at PIR, I know it must be so exciting. Can't wait to see pics and especially those of the 935 and 936 divisions with the flags and the choir. And all of you got to see my baby girl, how cool is that? Congratulations!!!!

I didn't cry during the graduation but got tear up a bit when the Master Chief said that American trust the Navy. The past two days I cannot stop staring and observing my son. I almost lost it when a person came up to thank him for his service. I am so proud of him. He leaves for San Antonio on Monday. Tomorrow, is our last day with him. It was like yesterday I saw him every waking day and now I am just grateful for this weekend until his next liberty time from A School.

I did not have time to post anything until now as my son was a GNG in PIR 7/9. It was tremendous to get all the advice from everyone in this group and the GNG group. I have to tell you I was teased a lot from the kids because every two seconds I would say...."Well my Navy Mom's group said"...LOL But seriously, the information was right on and perfect for us GNG mom's. I will post to that site as well, but what fun to see them after all this time, hear the respect in their voices and to just touch them. We went to eat, to a movie at the mall, some shopping and then back to base. Every minute was picked by our sailor :) Up at 3 am. to meet at Midway and got to be with him until 6:15 a.m. That is a tearful goodbye.....but he is already in Pensacola now.

Congratulations everyone!

Oh forgot to mention we went to the M&G Thursday evenving and enjoyed meeting all the navy families and some families from division 242. We were all happy to finally meet in person. We all had a great time. We also drove past GL navy base many times to see if we could see anything. Oh well I'm sure I was not the first mom to do it and won't be the last. LOL

PIR was great. It was very nice and impressive. We took our sailor to Chicago yesterday to the Gino's East, Michigan St. Great Chicago pizza and walked around the navy pier. My son was asked if he could have his picture taken with two exchange students from Austailla and many people shook his hand thanking him for serving our country. We were so proud. This morning we took him for a buffet breakfast and he had real eggs. He was to happy just to sit and take his time. We are enjoying our weekend with our new sailor. They all looked great.
