Ship 3 Div 235......I am like alot of people posting here. I don't think that it is consuming me, but I have lost sleep the last few nights waking up with dreams or just not being able to sleep. I am so nervous about them graduating. I have not heard from many people in my son's division and I have no information on "how" they are doing, did they get any awards. It makes me a little nervous...At least work helps, the holiday helps and now my daughter has her first Air Force ROTC event this week. Trying to keep busy...
Good luck to everyone!!

Even if the address is slightly wrong from the recruiter it will get to them. But if you take the info your recruiter gave you go to the website www.bootcamp.navy.mil it will give address for each and every ship....But I sent 2 weeks of mail to my son with wrong addy and he got all of them!

Colleens info on BS-21 is right on target. They start at 8pm and it ends at 8am, but the calls don't start coming in until around 1-3 CST and as late as 6pm. Good news is... these are not short calls! My son had almost 50 minutes to call as many people as he wanted. They will be exhausted, but thrilled to talk to you - you probably won't be able to shut them up! And don't be surprised if you see them update their Facebook status later that day or the next - how??? Depending on when they complete BS-21 and how many free days they have until PIR, most RDC's give them "free time" to go spend time having fun at Ricky Heaven where they can buy junk food and Red Bulls, jump on computers and just relax and hang out. You may see charges for the NEX on their bank accounts!

Your recruits are so close now, you may be a little "charged up" and drive others crazy (like co-workers!), but that's part of this process. Just take care of yourselves and remember to breathe!!!! I'm so excited for all of you, it's only been a little over 3 weeks since my son's PIR, so it's fresh enough to relive all over again.

Wow justimom you are so lucky to get so many phone calls. So BS21 for DIv. 242 is 7/6. I will mark it down in my day planner so I remember. I wish all the recruits well with BS21 and we will all have to say a special prayer for all of them. I will have to take extra exercise classes at the gym that night so my anxiety doesn't get the better of me. I will exercise and pray at the same time. LOL The NEX is the Navy Exchange where recruits purchase items. They call it Ricky Heaven.
Comment by justinsmom on June 28, 2010 at 8:24pm
NEX - apparently is like a store where they purchase items. He said some of them were there getting the ribbons from their live fire training - He said there are 3 ribbons given, Expert, Sharpshooter and Marksman. Each recruit who passes live fire gets one of these ribbons. He said they were given an hour by the RDC to march over to NEX get their ribbons, and if they had time, could make a phone call too!

WOW - Another phone call today! Division 241 got to make calls from NEX - had about a 35 minute surprise call. Said they did very well as a division in the "confidence chamber" and it wasnt as bad as he thought it would be. Confirmed again that BS-21 will be July 6th. All that is left is their firefighting training! What a great surprise!

YES I'M READY TO GO ALSO. DO YOU THINK THE NAVY WOULD MIND IF I SHOWED UP A WEEK EARLY. :) LOL I know all the recruits are just fine but don't your think they need us to cheer them on for BS21
