Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by harleygirl on July 18, 2012 at 3:11pm: My son called for security clearance questions. The division passed but did not do well and the chief took away their phone call. I was able to ask him questions as his chief was not around. They are exhausted, having been up since 4:30 yesterday (not sure if that is am or pm). I said congratulations - you are still a sailor!!!! I'm not sure he even had the energy to talk. Just wanted to pass this info on. :)

So according to my calcs, our left over divisions should be done with Battlestations now and we should start getting calls soon? It has been a long 2 months and this is going to be the sweetest thing. I know I can't wait to hug my Sailor.

dbarton:Yes you can bring in bottled water, they also sell ot at the merchandise booth there in the drill hall.

You can pick your seating, check your camera settings (mine turned out dark because I didn't do this), and enjoy the pre-ceremony acitivies that will be going on there. You can bring snacks too, and there are some items you can buy there.
