He left on May 22nd. He said they have already done 6 Intense Trainings because people keep talking when they are not suppose to and he has quarter size blisters on his feet. :(

Thanks juliebelle for that. It helps. I'm a mess right now. I hope they get hin through it!

JeffsMum- I have two good friends whose boys were so miserable they all begged to come home in the first letters and cried HORRIBLY during the first call..However, they changed their tunes by PIR and have had outstanding careers in the navy and laugh at their boot camp experience.... be his ROCK

Oh no Jeffsmum. Now I am scared. I have never been so desperate in my life for something, anything from my son. When did yours leave? Mine left on May 22nd and just need something more then the PIR date. I was told that the first few weeks are rough and that most are not real happy. Maybe I should not be so excited for it my letter now? Did you son sound ok other than that? did he say why he is so miserable?

Got my first real letter today and I was so excited. Not so much now. He is miserable! Is this the kind of first letter most Moms have gotten? I'm so bummed out for him. I know Bootcamp is hard, it's suppose to be, but I guess this wasn't what I expected. Help!

...and, by the way, that is very strange.  How could that have happened????

CTI:  Look up towards the top right of this page at the members profile pik box.  Click "View All."  Scroll through and look at the cities under the members' names.  There IS a member there from Phoenix.  You may want to private message them that info.  I would take the post off the main board here since you have a last name in there (that could be an SR's last name too...can't post those).  You can repost it here if you like with just the first name and initial of last name and see if you get a response.

Odd thing today. Received an airline confirmation for a Joanne Jacobus. Is that anyone on here? It is for the weekend of PIR flying from Pheonix to Chicago.

Juliebelle--thanks for the good luck. Got a job offer today so all is good again!!

Good morning everyone!! No letter yet for me but hopefully today it will happen. Haven't been on much later either because out job searching. Got laid off from current organization so trying to find a new job. Thankfully I am a nurse and should be fairly easy to find a job. Glad to hear so many of you have received letters though. Trying to catch up on all of the posts here. Gets a little overwhelming at times.

ellen:  Funny what your sailor said about the food at BC.  My son really liked it.  But he eats anything and everything, and would choose veggies over junk food!

Good morning all!

Betsy:  Guess that goes to show that the food at BC maybe is more nutritious than on the ships?  I don't know...maybe it is the salt air that gets into the ship food and makes it takes not so good???  :-)
