Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by RyansMum (MM/Nuke) on June 7, 2012 at 5:04pm: He left on May 22nd. He said they have already done 6 Intense Trainings because people keep talking when they are not suppose to and he has quarter size blisters on his feet. :(

Mine left on May 22nd and just need something more then the PIR date. I was told that the first few weeks are rough and that most are not real happy. Maybe I should not be so excited for it my letter now? Did you son sound ok other than that? did he say why he is so miserable?

I'm so bummed out for him. I know Bootcamp is hard, it's suppose to be, but I guess this wasn't what I expected. Help!

Scroll through and look at the cities under the members' names. There IS a member there from Phoenix. You may want to private message them that info. I would take the post off the main board here since you have a last name in there (that could be an SR's last name too...can't post those). You can repost it here if you like with just the first name and initial of last name and see if you get a response.

Haven't been on much later either because out job searching. Got laid off from current organization so trying to find a new job. Thankfully I am a nurse and should be fairly easy to find a job. Glad to hear so many of you have received letters though. Trying to catch up on all of the posts here. Gets a little overwhelming at times.

Betsy: Guess that goes to show that the food at BC maybe is more nutritious than on the ships? I don't know...maybe it is the salt air that gets into the ship food and makes it takes not so good??? :-)
