Betsy--I am jealous. I cannot wait until the day I get to hug my child again. I hope you spent most of the weekend with him wrapped in your arms. I know that's hard since they are older but darn if I won't try...lol.

Michelle, I am SO sorry to hear this. I was really looking forward to meeting you in July. I hope her physical therapy goes well. Please keep us updated and we will keep her in our thoughts.

Laureen, thank you so much for your words of wisdom to our new SR moms.  I know that it will be comforting to many on here.  Also, thank you for the sacrifices that your family members have made for us.  You have raised some awesome children.

Here is my reason for being absent last week.  Speaking of my sailor, hehe!   He did an awesome thing last week, (which explains my intermittent sporatic visits on here). I opened my front door last Monday morning and there he was!   He flew all night across the country from WA state to MD to spend a week with us.  He only told his cousin that he was coming so that his cousin could pick him up at the airport.  Sadly, our time went all too fast and we had to take him back to the airport this morning, but we have many wonderful memories of his big surprise visit to keep us until we see him again.   I still can't believe that he pulled it off.  Here is a picture of our last day today.   Am I one proud mom or what?  :)

((hugs)) Michele.  I hope that her recovery goes well.

I am so sorry to hear that Michele. I hope she will heal quickly and be able to go back to boot camp and become a Sailor if she chooses to do so. Be sure your have a her sign a waiver so they will be allowed to discuss her medical information with you. Please stay in touch and let us know how she is doing. I know you will be happy to have her home where you can take great care of her. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sad to report that our daughter has injured her knee in bootcamp and is now separated.  She will be returning home for physical therapy and hoping she can go back next year.

Good morning all!

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on June 4, 2012 at 1:49am

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I am not on as much on the weekend as hubby is home…but I usually get to read and then catch up on Monday! Praying for letters and calls for y’all this week!

Hubby and I went to see “Battleship” tonight. Kicked Alien Butt! HOOYAH! Loved seeing all the “Sailors” and the USS John Paul Jones reminded me of all of the Recruits as “Camp John Paul Jones” is the main housing area for them! If you go, make sure you wait and watch the scene after the credits…the furry creatures made us laugh as we have one and have worked with the others! LOL

Good Night!
