Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by diannep on July 16, 2012 at 8:27pm: Ladies, when packing for PIR, remember that the a/c in the PIR hall can be a little chilly so bring a light jacket/sweater just in case. Hard for me to say that right now...as I'm sweating in my broken a/c house here in S. FL! Not a good time of year to have no a/c! My older son said even the floors are 'sweating." Having to pluck down $$$ in the morning for a new compressor. Sigh....but whatever it takes to get COLD again! :-)

When explaining the Days Inn, I somehow deleted that Days Inn offered limo rides to and from the PIR for $6 per person. It is well worth it because the lines of traffic are very long. So, if your hotel offers shuttle service, take advantage of it. It saves you a lot of time. The Days Inn was ok. There are better places to stay but we decided rather late to book a room to save driving back and forth from GL twice a day.

Sarge's is not too far away fro the base. Our motel was at 41 and Buckley Rd. and Sarge's place is about a 10-15 minute ride from that point.

Lets see....the NAvy Lodge is about 1.8 miles from RTC. NL is at the bottom right of the pic...so go east from that 1.8 miles on Buckley and that would be RTC.
