He did not mention who one - just that div 223 did not win. He wrote us earlier this week and told us he thought they'd get a call today. Don't know why he got a call either. Sorry.
BTW - last week a mom mentioned her son changed bunks to be closer to the officer and is now bunking with a kid from Colorado --- yes, that's my son. (his initials are A.L.) If it is your son, M.R., he said they get along great and will likely be hanging together for A-school. Small world when you think about it - How many people actually converse on this group compared to how many are in this PIR and in the 7 Divisions! Maybe we will see you on Thursday night?
OMG - Son just called... WHO HOO! Got to talk with him for a good 20+ minutes! We put him on speaker so all could hear. He sounds really good and very calm. He's in Div 223 - Said they did gas chamber Thursday and all went well. Didn't do too well on the Capitan's Cup today but all is good. 2 more tests and BS next week! Oh it was so good to talk with him. He is ready to move forward and on to A-school. Said BC has actually been fun! Hope you all get calls from your kid soon :o) I feel good and ready for next week! 6 days to go!
Thanks - we will all be good and hope the best for everyone's travels! Our 2 youngest have Spinal Muscular Atrophy - they have overall muscle weakness, but cognitivly they are straight A students. Smart, quick whit and funny. Couldn't ask for more. Gotta have humor in life! All 3 of our kids are special - we will soon have a sailor and we all couldn't be more proud!
So far 15 of us have RSVP'd for Sarges Meet & Greet - weeeeee --so close.
Diannep - thanks. Sad to say, after all the conversations i have read here, i want to be where the action is and see faces. I will reach out to Sarge again.
We are driving - we drive everywhere when you have power wheelchairs. Flying is challenging and full of hassels & worries. Especially when they take the W/C away and stow it under the plane. The airlines often break them and hey, that's my kids mobility. Also - power WC cost over $35K each when when they break anything on them, it's a huge inconvenience. So, driving is our friend :o)
Julie: Just remember: "google" is your friend! You can google alot of the acronyms and find info on them!
Julie: Sarge's MeetandGreet will be the most informative. Be sure to ask him about smoking there...not sure on that...hoping it isn't allowed though. All of the MeetandGreets are very kid friendly, I can tell you that. They are created for all family members/friends to enjoy! But like I said, you will find that Sarge is full of info for you all for PIR weekend...and he has the transportation service too for those needing it through the weekend or from/to the airport.
