wow -- 75 divisions there at a time. That is amazing. I knew the number was big - when you do the math of PIRs each Friday, etc. They must really have it down to a science. Very impressive!
BTW - Where do you get all your NAVY MOMs gear?
One more question regarding Meet&Greets - we chose Flannigans because it looks more roomy and kid friendly - does anyone have any preferences on one or the other? Also, I am gathering the Illinois allows smoking in restaurants & bars (Colorado banned indoor smoking everywhere about 5 years ago - it's nice). My 2 kids can't be around smoke for respiratory reasons. Anyway, I sent an email to Sarge asking about the kid friendly piece but haven't heard back, so I am in limbo on where to take the crew on Thursday night.
Paige - i know what you mean that they all blend together. The URL you gave is one site, but there are links in it that take you to the MIL site i listed. It's a wonder we are keeping it together. I've also been on the FB page only for the past 2 weeks though. Makes you wonder what we will do once BC is over ... i did find an A School group on this site so i am on that but haven't read it - or lived there - like i do here. Most of the time i read the acronyms everyone posts and I am lost. In the beginning, i came arcoss an acronym page on a website - but don't know where that is now. They will all make more sense when our sailors are able to talk with us more.
MOMofDREW: Bingo! I bet you are correct on that! Would make sense that they got behind because of the heat and not being able to do the gas chamber. Never seen it happen before, but makes sense.
So....calls next week from all divisions then!
Do you all know that at RTC right now, they will have between 6,000-7,000 SRs/sailors? 75 divisions there right now, which doesn't include those just arriving or those "on hold." That is about the number of sailors on a carrier...and more!
Navyknit-That is to Funny!!!! I think you should start a Group for us. I am sure there is plenty of us on here!!!
julie.. ok i think i am losing it.. :-) I have been to that site many times.. I think they are all blending together right now!
Julie- your welcome. If you have FB there is a group there also. Yes for the last 2 months I have pretty much lived on this computer, trying to figure it all out. my son told me he was going into the nave about 2 months before he was to grad from college.. Grad on my May 12 left for BC on the 22nd. I knew nothing of the Navy.... But i am learning everyday. i will have to check out the bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming grads thank you for the link
thanks Page - haven't seen this site before. It amazes me how many navy sites there are for the RTC. I've been on http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp, Navyformoms, and navy.com. Not to mention all the UTube videos. It's like us parents go through our own RTC by way of all the training we go through on the outside.
Does she remember what hats they had on?? They get NAVY ballcaps after BS21. If they're still wearing RECRUIT caps, that would tell us they won't do BS21 until next week. I know, I'm desperate. If the were wearing their 8 points, there's no telling. : )
It sounds so strange that someone SAW them. I feel kind of like he dropped off the face of the earth, sort of wondering if he ever existed. Now that it's getting so close, I'm really feeling the separation and getting emotional. : (
I think it possible that since div221/222 made up the 'confidence chamber' they missed due to hot weather their BS21 was pushed back at the last moment. Final Answer. Final Speculation. A mom from PIR 7/13 posted she saw Div 221 marching yesterday and they looked GREAT!
