Forgive my ignorance, but what all happens on Captains Cub Day?

Comment by diannep on July 14, 2012 at 11:05am

HAA!  No, Janell.  No worries on that.

Nothing to do with being worn out on Captains Cup day...probably more likely that with a smaller PIR group, they can get them done PIR week.

Meegan, I think you are a devoted Mom and are doing a great job of protecting your SR! And I believe also that he will understand. Patrat and Paige, when my son left for boot camp I too had no idea what was clean and what wasn't so I washed everything, it took me about TWO DAYS also!!! Lala - I didn't really think that could be it either, glad to hear your input on that!!!  Gooooo SAILORS at Captains Cup!!!

Comment by DanaTN on July 14, 2012 at 9:21am

Meegan.. my heart goes out to you, graduation will be bitter sweet for you.. my prayers are with you & your family..

Janell, I don't think that is it, they already know all about how smart we are and what we know here on Navy for Mom's. I am sure they have their reasons but I doubt it has anything to do with this site or facebook lol. Who knows, maybe there were storms or power outage, maybe they did it and all the phone were out. Hopefully some of you will get calls today so we will know who won Captains cup and maybe they will know why there was a change. :-)

Patrat- My son's stuff came home from college in a hugh commercial  laundry bag.   Tuesday i finally went to his room and dump it all out on the floor.  I had No clue what was clean and what was dirty.  I had 2 full days of wash and going through all his stuff and organizing his room.  It will definitely Keep you Busy. :-)

I bet after going through BC  he will never pack his belongings like the mess i just tackled!!  lol

Meegan - Impressive! I truly believe that you are doing the right thing, and your son will as well. We are so close Yikes!!!! I need to keep busy cause I can't stop thinking about it. I think that I will attack my son's room today, I beleive that I am finally ready, and it certainly will keep me busy :)

Comment by Jenn_NicksWifey on July 14, 2012 at 3:19am
Meegan - you might want to change the email address associated with it too. If you forget your fb password, you can have a reset code sent to your phone or email. He won't have his phone, but he'll be able to get to email.

I'm sure he will understand. And if he doesn't, point him to us, we'll tell him! I know you agonized over what to do and I really feel that you did the best thing you could have. I really do think he'll understand, you've raised a fine man. I hope to see you at graduation.

I never thought I would ever brag about something like this but I was successfull FINALLY in hacking into my sons FB account in fear that he would get on it and read about his loss while he was in Boot Camp. I read nothing and touched nothing, I simply changed his password so he cant get into it until I get a moment face to face to deliver this news. I am just protecting him from total devestation of finding out that way, He wrote me a letter stating that he saw some divisions come out of BS's and were able to access computers. I was not wanting to take that chance and now I do not have to. I am going to sleep great tonight knowing that he will not find out like that. I had to dig deep and try many different ways to get into it and just when I was giving up it worked. I am happy :) I can now take him to a quiet private place to tell him and then i will also give him the "New password" so he can change it back.I hope he understands.

Diannep, I've had an awful thought...this simply could NOT be because RTC found out that so many of us knew the date could it? I'm also wondering if maybe they didn't want to have two divisions worn out on the day of the Captain's Cup if they could get all the divisions Battlestations in next week, after the Captain's Cup? What are your thoughts on these possibilities?
