Well, ladies, it is very possible that they did not go through last night? Does anyone have the training week/day count for 221/222? They have to have been on 6-4 yesterday to have gone through. Did anyone keep up with that?
I'm hanging out on the facebook page, too and no one has gotten a call.
At least we know that as a division nobody got a call----like always no news is good news I guess? Maybe they delayed it until tomorrow......Any advice veteran mommies???
No one has gotten a call....Dianep/FTLW what's up?
Right. Man I wonder if anyone has gotten a call today....Maybe he's on watch or something-that's always a possiblity. :-) Patience is NOT fun when you're waiting for the other half! It's funny how excited I am to see his handwriting or just hear his voice. :-) Will you be wearing a ribbon at the PIR? Message me so that we can site together with the kiddos! :-)
mrsSR - I feel the same way. I'm torn between hoping they get to call tonight and getting to talk to my sweetie NOW and hoping they wait until tomorrow and maybe getting a longer call. They tap (that's how my hubby refers to lights out) at 8pm tonight. Which is in an hour and 15 minutes. There are a lot of Sailors and not a ton of phones.
I just was speaking with a friend of mine that works on base, and she said that it's not raining. Maybe they pushed it back because it was raining earlier. I've been at work today with my phone in hand just waiting. I know it's getting late there. Do you guys think that they may make them wait to make calls until tomorrow? I am NOT a patient person-but I guess the whole navy experience has taught me to wait. :-) I'm trying, but the anticipation is KILLING ME!
Shuttle vs. Drive:
I drove...the Parking Garage is at the south end from Midway hall...and at first glance on a Mapquest (which looks REALLY old if you go to satelite view and zoom in...lots of dirt!)...looks far away from it. It actually feeds into the Visitors Center...the USS Yorktown. Which then feeds into Midway Ceremonial Drill Hall. There are various "museumlike" scenarios of Recruit Training (and security with dogs) within the VC to look at while you are in line for the security checkpoint...if you can remember to look at them! I did not, and wish I could go back! The Shuttles drop you off at a staging point at Gate 8...which is closer to the North end of Midway Hall. From there it is about a 100 foot walk to the North end entrance (is there an entrance there any vet moms?...or is it the West side...in which case it is about 300 ft.) I have heard from recent PIR's that moms that have been told it is a shorter distance (which technically it is from the shuttle) you will be waiting outside in the elements. BUT if you walk around to the South entrance (Parking Garage side) you will be waiting inside. Even if you take the Shuttle BUT you decide to drive your Sailor back to RTC and are allowed entrance to drop them off either at the Parking Garage or across the base at the Chapel parking lot...you will need a vehicle pass. If not, you will have to drop them off at the Gate...which means extra walking time. Sailors are not allowed to run...or "double time it" back to their Ships...only walk. The Ships are South and SW of Midway Hall. Civilians are not allowed South past the Chapel or the Parking Garage. I'll post some Maps of RTC (these are public knowledge.)
Here is a Map...it is a tester! I just learned how to convert Powerpoint slides to jpg...so I hope it helps and am working on improving my PP skills! LOL:
Click on the pic and it will open into another page and enlarge.
Got it thank you!!!
By the way Lora - received my ribbons today. They are great! :o)
Rec'd another letter from my son. He said div 223 is doing well so they are all hoping they earned some phone calls for this weekend! If not, we will hear from him next week some time. Man of few words.
Can someone message me the BS date for Div 225. Thank you
