DanaTN, yes Div's 221/222 are waiting to get our "I'm a Sailor" calls!!! Today!!!! Meegan - your day is soon, so very SOON!!! I've been tearing up off and on all day already. I KNOW that everyone around me thinks I've totally LOST it, but I know you all on here understand! Thank you to each and every one of you that have shared this amazing journey through boot camp with me! OK, now I've gotta head back to work, don't know how I'll make it through this afternoon until that call comes!!! Hang in there!!!
Janellship07Div221-HILLARIOUS!! I do it all the time. I even have friends send random test texts and phone calls daily to just make sure that nothing is wrong. It is crazy. Today is not my day but I am living through you all and am excited like it is me :)
Oh YES! Keeping my phone in my HAND as much as possible today! I keep checking it to make sure it's working properly!!! LOL
Called PAO and could only leave a message
Over on the FB PIR 7/20 page Toni asked if div 221/222 will have to make up the 'gas mask' exercise before they become SAILORS? Has any one gone thru this variation of BC protocol? What do you think? Should we call Public Affairs? If so, what's their number.
Thank you NicksWifey, we sometimes have to work at it but we are both mature adults and truly both love my son. I would not have it any other way. Who knows, maybe we are embarking on a new journey from husband and wife to friends. We will see. One thing I do know is we are both arriving in the GL's with the same intentions and that is to see that our new Sailor has an amazing time and that he see's us being friends. I am getting so excited to get the heck out of hear and get there :)
In my husband's last letter he says they are going to the nex at 10 or 11 after Battle Stations for an energy drink. The phone banks are also right by the nex, so.... Maybe we'll get calls early today!
Meegan - I understand that we have a very small PIR group, only 7 divisions. If you look at, say the PIR 8/31 group, there are 12 divisions. I would think there will be room and he will have no problem getting in, even if not on The List. I'm glad to see some adults that can be civil to each other after a separation. Bravo Zulu to you guys!
Thank you so much diannep, I was so worried about this. My son adores his stepfather and it would not be the same without him being able to stand their and see what he helped raise. Reguardless of our situation we are putting everything aside and are going to show our new Sailor a good time. You just made my day AGAIN!! You are like a true angel. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
