I wish I understood everything you all are posting!  You must have studied something...What are battlestations?  Is that separate from PIR?  My son is a flag carrier for Ship 04/DIV 223 and goes thru PIR on 7/20.    I also saw posts about ribbons and flags --- My son hasn't mentioned any of those, but he's also not one for a lot of words.  Guess we'll find out when we get there in 2 weeks.  Does anyone know what I should bring him for A-school?  I have watched numerous videos and they all have laptops and street clothes.  We figured he couldn't wear those or have that stuff yet.  We'd like to bring him anything he needs and I can't find a list for "what to bring to A School".  Thanks

navyknitt22 - Sweetie...I hope you had a good day at the beach.

I'm so sorry that your son has a fractured tibia and a set back. He sounds like a strong young man...and I know he will he'll well, overome and move on to becomae a sailor!

You have been a great leader and this will always be your PIR group! We want to be here for you and here about your sons progress! I know it is hard and sad and I know that it is hard for him...but after the initial "shock" of it, adjustment of being moved to RCU...he will "press on" and feel better...I have seen it many times on here!

I know you won't get to meet the ladies on here but maybe if you like they can take pictures and send to you aftrer PIR...and I bet that some of their recruits (future Sailors) may be at the same "A" school as your son...so he may see some of his Division there!

Your son will be the best source for the timeline and what will happen as he goes the Phases of recovery (yes Folks, there is an organized method to this!)...but I am going to post a generic "what happens when they go to RCU" post in a few for you (want to put it together well from a couple of posts I have1). Again each recruits situation is different.

Also, In the meantime...please join the RCU group. The ladies are wonderful over their and soo much help! They will get you the address for Ship04/Div2341 and be a big support!

Oh, I hate to ask...but...would someone please message me the date for BATTLESTATIONS?   My son is also in Div 221.   I would so appreciate it. I know approximately, but I too want to make sure my phone is like, in my hand ready to answer!!! Thank you very much!!!  Btw, I'm tickled to hear that some got phone calls today!!!

Comment by MrsSailor-S on July 7, 2012 at 8:48pm

Thank you momofdrew-That's helpful. :-)  I just want to be sure that I have my phone handy.

diannep-I'll be sure to get there early so that we get a decent seat. :-)  Thank you guys for all of your help!

Would someone be so kind as to message me a date for BS21? My SR is in 221 Thank you!
Comment by diannep on July 7, 2012 at 7:48pm

Those whose SRs gave blood...expect a Navy coin in the mail reflecting that.  That is how I knew that my son gave blood....he never told me.

With only 7 divisions in this group, it is possible that they will only do 2 divisions a night, maybe 3 on the night the 900 division goes through.

Patrat/txbabydocmom:  I will message you both to see what date you received.  I have a date on the schedule with a questionmark.

Comment by diannep on July 7, 2012 at 7:44pm

mrsSR:  Actually the top of the bleachers, where you lean back against a concrete wall, fill up first, but the bottom row fills up pretty quickly too.

txbabydocmom:  We can't post last names on here....not allowed.  So if you can delete your post, it would be appreciated.  You can repost without the last name.  Why not "message out" that last name to those in your division on here?  Hoping that the SR's mom is on this site!

Comment by MOMofDREW2.0 on July 7, 2012 at 7:30pm

mrsSRship7 div221&222 could go the day before 223/224 if they only take two at a time.  Just dont want any of us to miss a call!

Comment by MrsSailor-S on July 7, 2012 at 6:14pm

Congrats for the phone calls! :-)  Can you guys message me the dates for battle station for 223?  I'm assuming that 221 would be right around the same date.

Comment by dbarton(ship04div223) on July 7, 2012 at 5:56pm

txbabydocmom - lol on the twinkies...she is also pumped for captain's cup!!!  Their division has really come together!
