Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by diannep on July 7, 2012 at 10:27am: MoMofDrew: Ship 4 is like Ship 5. Navyknit's son has been removed from the PIR group and put in RCU for healing. Once he is healed, he will be assigned to a new PIR group/division to complete training.

I know you all will miss seeing navyknit at PIR since she has been an awesome "leader" of this N4Moms group...but she will be at another PIR in the future...cheering loudly!

navyknit: So very sorry...but please know that this happens often in bootcamp. I have seen some in RCU for several months and they become still sailors. Sure hoping that your son heals much faster than that, but keep up the faith! So sorry this happened so close to PIR...but once he is a sailor, it won't really matter how he got there...except he will be so much stronger with the determination he has now to get through this.

It's amazing how you can feel like you have close friends that you've never met. Im curious to know if anyone knows the date of battlestations. I know we can post if, but if anyone has an idea of when div 221 is supposed to complete it, can you message me? Will we get a call for sure?

I believe that God will use this in his plan for your son somehow and will bring good of it in some way that we can not even begin to imagine!!!

The fact that he has been running with a fracture proves that he is a very strong and determined young man. He will get through this and will be even stonger because of it! My thoughts and prayers will continue for your son and you.
