Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by diannep on July 2, 2012 at 10:30am: Dana: Just talked to my son who was at Meridian MS for A School. No, he didn't have to buy any of that. There was a tv in the "living" room in his "pod".

I know I brought no linens, towesl, etc to my son, and he never mentioned that when he was there. Maybe he had to buy them there? In that case, don't take my word for it. I would check on the A School group because those ladies will know!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on July 2, 2012 at 8:56am: Good Morning Navy Family :-) I just posted a questionnaire in the discussions above. This is one I made for my Sailor because I wanted to her to get all the encouragement she could before going through battle stations. I also wanted her to know how proud I was of her and all that she had accomplished. Feel free to copy and paste and take away or add anything you like and make it your own to send to your recruit. Even if you don't like questionnaires you can probably find a way to use the encouraging paragraph about battle stations. My Sailor is a girl so you may have to tweak it a little to make it your own :-) This one is funny and encouraging. Enjoy!!!

Comment by diannep on July 2, 2012 at 7:36am: The divisions should be hitting Training Week 5 this week. The lower numbered divisions should be starting, with the others to follow in a day or two.

BattleStations for this group should start next week. They will conclude during PIR week. If you hear from your SR, please be asking for BattleStations dates for their divisions. Friend request/message them to me since I am keeping a schedule. Thanks!
